HP.com has a web page that talks about the different ways you can send a fax from this product:

Faxing Overview

In general, the fax machine in the all-in-one product doesn't need a computer to work. It works just like a stand alone fax machine. You shouldn't have to scan anything in from the scanner in order to fax. Just put the sheet of paper you want to fax into the product's feeder and follow the fax instructions (see the link I posted above).

As long as the product has electric power and is connected to a phone jack, it should work out OK.

As far as legal papers, if you mean legal sized papers, it should work as long as the product supports the paper size you want to use. You can get that on the product specifications web page at HP.

Product Specifications

Once that page opens, go to the Faxing specifications and Paper specifications sections for the relevant details. Good luck.

I'm looking for a fax machine that will share a single phone line, so that incoming calls are routed to the phone and incoming faxes are routed to the fax machine. Is this a built in feature?

I don't really know of a fax machine that will do this automaticly. But you have hope at electronics stores or computer stores they sell a spiltter just for this use. All you do to hook it up is there is one spot to plug in the incoming phone line, then at the other end or side depending on type you buy. You'll have one output to fax and one to your telephone. You can fax or receive faxes and make calls. The splitter seperates the uincoming calls as to faxs or calls and sends them to the correct output.

I have Linksys modem no AM300.I try and send a fax and it will not go through Error report "NO Answer" BUT I know fax machine on other end is ok.Internet is ok.Can you help John

Even though you have internet, have you connected a phone line? Most fax machines/software rely on the phone line. I don't know how you are sending a fax. If you are sending a fax directly from an all-in-one, you'll need to connect the phone line to the back of that device. If you're sending a fax using a program on the computer, you'll need to connect the phone to the back of the computer.

You can temporarily disconnect your land-line phone and connect it to the all-in-one or computer. Just remember to reconnect it when you are done so you can receive phone calls.

I hope this helps!

Cannot fax with printer cartridge (Brother MFC 3100c)

Nice try, but it won't let you do it, will it?
Kind of frustrating, since you thought that way you might get around the cost of new cartridges, no? Here's the brother support site if you really want to delve into it. But I don't thin so.
You can, on the other hand, send a fax from your computer over the fax/modem, if the document you want to send is already in the system somehow. If you need to scan it in with that same printer you're probably out of luck. But if you have an installed fax modem and are hooked up to a phone line, you can use Word or the modem software to configure and send faxes.
Good luck. There's alway Kinkos, I guess.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Need to make an old pc into a fax server Need software

no, but you can buy fax software that can send out the same fax to a mailing list or call list automatically, like an autodialer. However, windows fax might give you some features, but not that robust. I don't know of any free software like that, though.

I need to know how to send a Broadcast fax to multiple numbers

This is right from the manual:
You can use the Multiple Send feature, which allows you to send a fax to
multiple locations. Originals are automatically stored in memory and sent
to a remote station. After transmission, the originals are automatically
erased from memory.
1 Press Fax.
2 Load originals face up into the ADF, or place a single original face
down on the scanner glass.
For details about loading an original, see page 5.1.
3 Adjust the document resolution and darkness to suit your fax needs.
See page 9.1.
4 Press Menu until Fax Feature appears on the bottom line of the
display and press OK.
5 Press the Scroll buttons until Multi Send appears and press OK.
6 Enter the number of the first receiving fax machine and press OK.
You can use speed buttons, speed dial numbers, or group dial
numbers. For details, see page 10.2.
7 Enter the second fax number and press OK.
The display asks you to enter another fax number to send the
document.
8 To enter more fax numbers, press OK when Yes appears and
repeat steps 6 and 7. You can add up to 209 destinations.
Note
You cannot use group dial numbers for another fax number.
9 When you have finished entering fax numbers, select No at the
Another No.? prompt and press OK or Start.
The original is scanned into memory before transmission. The
display shows memory capacity and the number of pages being
stored in memory.
10 If an original is placed on the scanner glass, select Yes to add
another pages. Load another original and press OK.
When you have finished, select No at the Another Page? prompt.
The machine begins sending the fax to the numbers you entered in
the order in which you entered them.

Fax modem

The best solution is not to need a fax/modem. Send and receive faxes via internet.

This program was PC Magazines editors Choice:

This way you don't need a phone line/ tying up your phone line etc..

I need to know how to connect my fax to my computer.

hi there,

May i know what is your purpose connecting those unit?

If you want your computer can dial up internet connection, just plug your phone line to computer modem port and other side plug to the phone port at your fax machine.

If you want your computer can send fax, same with above tips. but you must install fax program at your computer, so you can directly send fax through your computer.

Need to know how to send fax's.

Hello,

Your particular Lexmark X3350 does not have a fax modem. You have a couple different options though, however I am not sure if the option in the software you are using will be ungreyed, but you will be able to send faxes.

One option is to purchase a modem at a computer store (usually they are around $15) and install it. If you want to take this route then I would first check to see if your computer has room for one or sometimes I have found people already have one, and its just not installed. If you would like to take this route, respond and I will make detailed instructions on how to install for you.

Another option is to pay for a service to send & receive faxes for you. This is common, because as technology continiously increases everything is becoming more and more digital and people are shifting away from using real paper all of the time. For instance I built a service for a company a few years ago where they could fax whatever papers they wanted by sending an email to my program with the telephone number as the subject of the email and whatever they wanted to fax as an attachment. If you are interested in this alternative let me know, and I will suggest some third party services for you.

Regards,

-Chester
