hi, 4 flashing red lights indicates a fault with the video lead, now if you unplug the lead from the back of the xbox and switch it on you should get the same 4 red lights so try that just to check.
now unplug the lead from the telly and your xbox and then refit it make sure you push it in the back of the xbox far enough, if after doing that you still have the problem then this means your going to need to replace the video lead.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
please rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
Hi 4 red rings means the video lead is not put in the back of the console properly so take the leads out and try them again.
if they are fitted correctly switch it on and when you get the flashing red lights do the following
when all lights are flashing hold down the little white round wireless button and keep holding it down whilst you do the following.
whilst holding the button down press the eject button on the console then write down how many red lights are lit up. then hole the white button down again and press eject and write it down, you need to do this 4 times and it will give you a code that you can give to me and i can then tell you exactly what the fault is ok
so it will be something like this 4 red lights 4 red lights 2 red lights 1 red light
let me know the code then i can tell you exactly whats wrong and what you need to do to solve the problem ok
Take all leads out of xbox 360 except the power lead and remove hard drive and all accesories then rap 2 towels around xbox 360 and switch xbox on leave it on for 20 minutes make sure that youl ay it down flat the right way up it will get very hot but dont panic this will work if it switches off after 5 minutes or so switch it back on it needs to be on for 20 minutes, when you have done this switch xbox 360 off and take off the towels and leave for 10 minutes and its ready put all leads back on and insert hard drive then switch on and it will work.
I hate it when people put "Red ring of Death" for a ORANGE flashing light on the power bar and actually a red ring on the front of the Xbox (which then would mean the red ring of death)!
I just fixed this problem for a friend. They had a contoller charging lead plugged in to the front which had a bad connection in it. Thats all it was so I just unplugged the charging lead and it worked.
So Unplug everything except the power and see if it works 1st, if it does then plug things back in one by one and see when it starts to flash and thats your problem lead there.
put a game in put it on standby hook your controller with the usb lead in (red light) press and hold power it will beep ,beep , double beep shutdown by itsself turn it back on it should default back rf
if not do the first instructions again but power back on by holding down again beep, beep, double beep but let go of the button b 4 it shuts down and there will be a dev mode this is something sony dont want you to know if helps give me a tick so to help others
try resetting the consoles setting to default, you can acquire this by just putting your finger still on the power button for lets just say 5 secs.until you hear it beeps.then remove your finger.let me know what happens
