A universal remote would cure this problem. It's generally since they are on the same system or IR codes are similar. There isnt much you can do to fix that problem unless you have a seperate universal remote to opperate seperately.

Hey I had exactly the same problem but fixed by removing batteries and holding one button down for a couple of mins. Strange but seems to fix!

Model DR-S2.0. Why doesn't it respond to remotes?

If your receiver does not respond to the original remote, the remote may have failed.

If your receiver does not respond to your Harmony remote, the remote may not have been programmed or may have "forgotten" what to do.

Another possibility is that the infrared receiver has failed

Can you use an Onkyo RC-771M remote control to operate Onkyo receiver TX-SR502 ?

Unfortunately, the RC-771M remote doesn't control the TX-SR502. It will only work with these Onkyo models: TX-NR1008 and TX-NR808. The RC-567M is the one for the TX-SR502; replacement remotes that are exact replacements are still available from various places including Amazon.com .

Since the TX-SR502 was released in ~2004, that replacement remote probably won't control other devices that were released in 2004 or later. Onkyo changed its IR code programming before the TX-NR1008 was released in ~2010 and the RC-771M can't communicate with the older receiver. The manuals for the receivers listed above are still available from Onkyo on the product page under the Downloads tab.

I wish that I had better news for you.

How to reset RC-569M remote controller to factory defaults.

Not sure if it's the same, but for the Onkyo RC-799M controller the reset sequence is:

To reset the remote controller to its factory defaults,
while holding down RECEIVER, press and hold down
HOME until the remote indicator lights (about 3
seconds). Within 30 seconds, press RECEIVER
again.

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. you need to check the battery contact with the battery terminal make sure that the terminal is clean.

check open the cover of your remote and check the solder of the battery terminal from the pcb board use a soldering iron resolder it.

using your cellphone camera test the infra red emmision of your remote control aim the camera to the infra red of your remote.you must see at the screen of the camera that the infra red is lit when any button is pressed..if not the infra red is busted.

Onkyo remote won't control Samsung components.

I got an Onkyo RC-717M remote control. It is the remote that comes with the Onkyo TX-SR706 receiver. It is a learning remote. When i entered the cde for the Samsung Blu-Ray it did the same thing as the other remotes I got from Onkyo, the pause, next / previous track buttons wouldn't work for the Samsung BD-P3600. I used the learning function of the new remote and programmed it to work. It works ok now but it sure was a hassle to get it done. In fairness i should have called Onkyo support but their support hours don't match my schedule.

Remote wont operate sound dock.

hi , To check wether the remote is outputting a infra red signal when a button is pressed try viewing the little LED at the top of the remote through your mobile phones camera , these little cameras pick up a fuller spectrum of light and you should see if flickering. IF you dont then check the batterys/. then the connectors for acid errosion from previous leaking batterys./pull the remote apart and with a pencil rubber clean the contacts on the surface of the circuit board/.The rubber membrain that has the buttons on wash it with warm soapy water , dry thouroughly.last test --go to mapplins and buy a replacement infra red led and change that? , see haow you go whith these tips and report back
