Power up scanner problem

The problem is in the scanner section. There is too mush ash on the mirrors and scanner lamp. You can fix it just like disassembly the printer and pull out the scanner section.Open it cover and inside you'll see the mirrors.Clean the ash from mirrors using cloth which leaves no hairs.
WARNING! If you don't have a technical skills don't try to do anything.
If this not help you need to replace the scanner section.

Clicking noise and will not print.

Hi Folks

My 2410 had the same problem and is now 100% functional again

Here is the Solution:
Go to hp.com
at search look for exactly:
!psc 2410 how to clean the scanner"
the first hit is the right one.

There is a complete description, how to do.

The problem seems to be, that the scanner can't calibrate on the right optical marker (inner backsite of the scanner glas) and the motor still retries to move the scanner behind this marker what causes the noise.

Hope it willhelp you
regards,
Michael

When I turn the printer on, a rhythmic banging sound starts

Is the scanner transport lock engaged?

This is either a screw, pin, Clip, Slideswitch or button that keeps the delicate scanner head from moving during shipment.

Look for it in the back and on bottom. If that isn't it, then the driver circuit for the stepping/space positioner motor is bad and you need a techie like me to fix... or just get a new AIO for $39.95 from Wal Mart.

Hp 2410 just clicking

When you power on the printer.
See if the scanner light move to the right and then keep on clicking.
If this happen, the scanner head is unable to find home position.
You will have to clean the strip under the glass.
If this only start to happen recently, you could unplug the printer and wait 1 hour.
Replug in the printer will at times stop the clicking.
You can go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com
Enter c00553775 into the search block.
Click on Hp All in one how to clean scanner glass.
This will bring you to the HP document.

Scanner failure during the initalization/starts up.

Sound as if your scanner is broken..
Could be something in there stopping it from moving, the motor could be bad.
It might have Home Positioning errors, causing this error.
To get it Fixed? The machine is about 140 dollars on Amazon?
The company I work for, the first hour is 125 (I do not know how much it cost to repair these)
Unfortunately these little ink jet printers are not designed to be repaired. They are considered throw away.
Sorry

Scanner bar seems stuck

You will need a torx driver and or phillips to take it apart. Just common sense and patience will get that accomplished. What you want to do then is find the cables that run from the scanner to the circuit boards, disconnect them and reconnect them. Ribbon cables need to be gently removed and be sure when replacing them you don't get any folds in them.
If the that doesn't work, then most likely the board or scan motor have failed. You may also want to look in the scanner and see if the home position sensor, which would be a U shaped sensor has popped out. The clicking is from the scan head trying to find the home ( start) position sensor and not finding it. When it works correctly it drives back until a little flag passes between the light and the photo sensor within that home sensor. Once the light is broken the scan motor shuts off and positions the lamp properly.

HP printer psc 2210 all in one

Chances are that you didn't lock down the scanner when you moved the unit. You can attempt to open the unit and move the scanner bar manually to reset it. HPs are very difficult beasts when it comes to their power up check out. It must be fully functional...including all cartridges...to work in most cases. Good luck.

Fails to initalize

i am having the same problem, did you happend to find a solution for this issue?? please let me know at capahela@hotmail.com or capahela@gmail.com After disassembling mine and realigning the mirrow in the bottom part of the scanner i managed to make it work only once, i really dont think it had something to do with it but it happened. i am desesperate, any help will be appreaciated. i believe that since the motor is a "motor de pasos" that need to be activated by consecutive pulses, the board must be sending these bits non-stop, but i have no clue of whereas how to fix it. thanks in advanced carla hernandez
