SOURCE: My Bose p1 touchscreen remote
Hello
Usually touchscreen back lights are LEDs [Light Emitting Diodes]. They are of many types, some of them can be soldered direltly to the printed circuit board, and otheres are SMD [Surface Mount Device] types. The former type can be replaced by normal soldering techneques, but if it is surface mount types, it will be difficult to replace, as they have been fitted with the help of pick-place-solder type machines. You just open your remote control, without damaging it cover. You can see the said LEDs around the edges of the display panel. Check it whether it can be replacable by you or not. If it is surface mount type, you will see it as a spot attacthed to the printed circuit board itself. If it is so, it will be very difficult to replace by yoursef. To replace it you have to contact any good service center with modern soldering equipments to resolder and solder SMD type components. If it repacable by yourself, that is, ordinary type fitted, you can do it by yoursef. Desolder it one amoung them, and go for new. Otherwise what we can do? Just contact the service center. That is all. OK.
