The CCD has a problem .... If you cud replace the CCd the problem will be solved.... there are certain service centre who repair CCD's ( almost 40% cost of a new one) .

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera.. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, contact Canon support for your country to see if they'll still honor the advisory (some still will, especially if you stress you knowledge that this is a known defect of the camera). Pink hues is the LCD and does not take clear pictures

You are right, It is CCD Image Sensor problem and Canon will fix it for Free.

Pink blur in viewer and wont take any new pictures

Its matter of bad CCD Imager in camera so you see pink distorted live image on lcd.

CCD Imager needs to be replaced in Canon A75 camera.

Canon will repair A75 for CCD Imager problem free of cost as per announced scheme.

Hi, my caon A75 camera produces blurry vertical lines in pink color on display, while taking photos. You know what to do to get this fixed

Canon A75 gives such distorted image when its ccd imager got defective. This part will be replaced.

Canon will replace it free of cost as per announced scheme for same problem in few models.

1. i am not able to view the background from LCD.
2. i tried switch DISP button on and off.
3.Rest all the functions are working fine in camera.
4.LCD is on with Blurr Screen.only thing background and captured photos cannot be viewed.

Pictures appear with a pink background

I had the same problem with the Canon PowerShot S410. I called Canon and they said it was a known issue. They are going to send me a return, paid postage label and replace the sensor at no cost. Canon rocks!

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your cameras warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Pink skys

This problem is generally caused by a failure in the image sensor. Canon has an active recall for many powershot models which covers this failure free of charge. Check the support section of their website for further information.
