Question about Fahrenheat (FFH1614) Wall Mounted Panel Heater

1 Answer

Fahrenheat wall heater fan doesn't shut off.

When the unit was new, the fan used to shut off about a minute or two after the heaters went off. Recently, the fan continues to run indefinitely. Obviously, a thermostat is stuck on. Can you supply me with a new part to solve this problem.

The part number on the unit is FZL4004B and the date code is 1004.
The ratings are 240v 4000W 16.7 Amps.

My guess is that the thermostat is a small cylindrical unit attatched to the the heater fins.

Please send me the service sheets and the parts list for this unit.

Is there an external thermostat that can be used for this and there is a vibration noise, any suggestions?

I'm not aware of a wall thermostat for this heater, because it does not have a Millivolt Control. As far as the vibration is concerned, does it just occur when the fan is on? If so the fan or the fan motor may be loose. Or the fan itself is out of balance. As make sure the fan housing is properly attached to a wall stud or studs.

The overheat safty switch trips after one to two minutes even though the fan is running properly. The unit functions properly with the red light on the front panel comming on while it cools for a few...

If the interior of the heater is dusty and dirty, this may be your problem. Turn off the circuit breaker feed to the heater, remove the front cover and clean the interior with a vacuum cleaner with brush attachment. Pay special attention to the fan blades. Any dust and dirt that the vacuum can't reach can be blown out with a can of compressed air (like you clean a computer with) and the straw nozzle. If you use the canned air, vacuum again after blowing it out. Replace the front cover, turn on the circuit breaker and test the heater. If that doesn't solve the problem, go to the manufacturer's website to obtain parts.

UNIT SOUNDS LIKE ITS SHUTTING DOWN ON A LIMIT SWITCH IN HEATER. THEY LOOK LIKE ROUND BUTTONS OF DIFFERENT SIZES. THE HAVE 2 WIRES GOING TO THEM AND THEY ARE A NORMALLY CLOSED. THERE IS A FAN DISK NORMALLY OPEN TO UNTILL IT GETS HOT AND CLOSES TO TURN ON FAN.  IF THE FAN SWITCH TAKES TO LONG TO CLOSE THEN LIMIT OPENS TO PROTECT FROM OVER-HEATING

I'm replacing a non-hydronic electric baseboard heating unit with a Fahrenheat hydronic one. My old unit was 240v using 2 conductors plus bare ground wire. The fahrenheat (PLF series) unit's instructions...

Hello. The red and the black are the hot wires. Therefore, connect one of your conductors to the red and the other conductor to the black. Use wirenuts. The bare ground wire should be solidly attached to the new unit's green wire using a wire nut.

Drawing current but not producing any heat.

I am assuming this is an electric wall mount heater, if the unit is drawing current then it should relate to heat as 3.41 btu is = 1 watt.
take the voltage reading and the amp draw and mutiply them to determine the wattage eg; 240 volts x 20.8 amps = 5000 watts = 17,050 btu. if the unit is fan assited and you are drawing 1 to 2 amps this would indicate the fan is runnning without the heat element being energized hope this helps

Fahrenheat fuh 54 b does not run long enough to get garage warm

have you checked what the operating amps are vs. the amps provided by the outlet. Sounds like you are trying to pull to much load and the machine probably has a saftey to where it shuts down bofore it buns itself up. Hope this helps. You have to be real careful about overloading circuts.

Can someone please tell me what is the lowest temperature setting a Fahrenheat 3000 Watt Large Room Fan-Forced Wall Heater Model FZL3004 will turn on at ?

about the only way I can figure is to let the room get very cool and adjust the thermostat to its lowest setting. now turn on the unit. monitor the heat until the stat just opens. the thermostat bimetal will be closed and will open when the bimetal expands and opens its contacts. another way is to hitch up a chart recorder to measure temperature with its output connected to the heater. [too expensive for you or the DIY to accomplish]

Fahrenheat 4000 watt wall mounted heater shuts off and needs reset

the reset is probably an inline circuit breaker. if you can get hold of am amprobe clamp around ammeter, check the current when the unit is running at full power. the reading you get check against the current rating of the inline breaker. your fan motor bearings may be dry increasing the current draw of the unit and tripping the breaker. try oiling the fan bearings with a light oil NOT WD-40.
