The system does not power on. When the power supply was opened up, the 50 V capacitor exploded. When replaced, it got very hot and eventually exploded again.

Hi,

Replace the caps and this time disconnect power supply rails that go to the amp module, then check positive rail for +30V and -30V, if they are present then your power amp ic's that if i remember correct are TDA7293 are blown, or at least one of them, let me know your results.

Definately replace power cord. I work with these microwaves all the time and if you don't it will cause a chain reaction and the fuses will explode into tiny sparks. This is coming from an expert

I heard a loud pop while comp was on -it shut down. Now blue power light wont come on --something with the power supply. If it is fried is it easy to replace? I have HP p6774y

The pop was probably a capacitor exploding and yes they are easy to replace. All of the power connectors are keyed so they only fit one way.
Here is a good guide with pictures on the whole process. Your computer won't deviate much from this. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/362
Any power supply should be fine, you can pick one of from a best buy. 300Watts+ should be more than adequate.
Or pick one up cheaper online I prefer newegg.com
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%204093&IsNodeId=1&name=%2410%20-%20%2425
Here you can pick one up for as little as $12

My computer was knocked forward it went bang and then smelt of burning - I have been told that it might be the internal powe pack can you help?

If your desktop computer went bang from the back of the computer and the burnt smell comes from the fan grill of the power supply then the switch mode power supply definitely failed. The bang and burning smell was probably one or more of the capacitors that has exploded inside the power supply.
You can replace the switch mode power supply, make sure you purchase one that has the same total wattage or higher wattage.
There is a chance that when the power supply failed it may have caused a voltage spike that could have damaged some other components. You won't know until you replace the faulty power supply.

Loud bang from system.Unit starts immediately power is supplied.Power switch does nothing.H/Drive and players run.No video ( card OK ) checked with another card. Can the problem be motherboard?

The load bang is most like an exploding capacitor in the switch mode power supply, especially if there is a burnt electrical smell from the power supply.
I suggest you borrow a switch mode power supply, remove the old power supply and install the replacement power supply. make sure it has the same or larger wattage unit.
If the computer still does not boot up then the exploding power supply has damaged the motherboard, and you need to replace then motherboard too. This may not be a cost effective solution.
This is an opportunity to get a new and better computer.

My 37'' LCD TV just made a crack sound then no sound or picture but the power light is on, any ideas? oh and a burning smell

I would guess that would be a Philips TV? Most likely a capacitor in the power supply has failed, and that pop was the capacitor exploding. For most sets a new power supply board is around $200+labor, although anyone who can do simple electronics repair could replace a failed cap for less, as long as that is the only problem.
