Question about HP Photosmart 7450 InkJet Printer
I have changed the ink cartridges but I now have a contant flashing on/off button and a picture of an ink cartridge on the display. I have very little knowledge of technical things so would appreciate an easy to follow solution. Much appreciated Helen
I've had the same problem. Take out the cartridge and wipe the copper strip gently with alcohol. Not a lot of alcohol. Just enough to wipe off any dirt. Or, unplug the printer for a few minutes and then plug it back in to reset the memory. The error message you are getting is for a dead cartridge. Take it back and get a different one. Even if it's filled, it can still be dead. There's a micro chip in the cartridge that's suppose to prevent refilling of cartridges. I have had no luck going to Walgreen's. Go to the store and buy boxed refilled cartridges or go to inkhets.com . Don't try to do it yourself. Not worth the hastle.

Excellent advice. Turned out to be the cartridge after all. Many thanks.
