Question about Compaq Presario Notebook
I down graded a compaq presario C790EI from vista to windows XP, i have not managed to get a sound driver to work with XP, when i visited the HP website, i found out that they do not have sound drivers for the model on xp for a down grade and should go back to Vista. Anyone out there who can assist
It is not always advisable to downgrade from Vista to XP, especially on a laptop. The reason being that most of the installed components on the laptop, are specifically chosen for their compatibility with Vista.
However, you can try the following driver, which is more or less a universal basic driver that should work with your machine.
Should that not work, you will have to find the make and model of your sound card and do a Google search for the drivers..
Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.
