Question about Computers & Internet
Need some help:
My friend's pc is a Gateway GT5228.
For a few days now his computer won't load the Windows XP OperatingSystem. It will show the loading screen, quickly flash a blue screen, and then restart (per the default setting, ones we can't go into thesystem and change because we can't get into the OS).
I looked up some stuff and at first it seemed to be a hard drive fail.So followed the instructions I found to do a check on the system, andit came back that the hard drive was okay.
Everytime we try to load in normal mode, it gives us that bluescreen-restart go around. When we try ANY Safe Mode option, it scrollsa bunch of text and then restarts again. I'm not sure what the problemis exactly, and since the hard drive came back okay I'm trying to finda better solution then just doing the system recovery since he hasfiles on there that he needs, and it seems like that recovery woulddelete said files.
Can anyone assist on things to try? I tried copying my personal harddrive via Acronis and then loading the system from the external USB,but since I have a dell it didn't seem to work properly.
The following will re-install windows without destroying your stuff but you must follow it exactly !!!!!!!
Windows XP to run on your computer:
To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.
To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
