Question about Panasonic PT-44LCX65 Television
TV shut down, upon trying to turn back on the power button blinks green for a while then switches to red flashes about one a second for a while then shuts down. The manual says 5 red flashes a second is a malfunction, call for service. Anyone have a suggestion of what the malfunction could be and is it worth trying to repair.
The lamp could still be the issue even though it looks ok. The other possibilities are the lamp ballast (power supply for the lamp) and/or the thermal fuse. In either case I would have a technician look at it so you don't replace parts you don't need.

Take the lamp out and examine it. Look for deformities in the thin glass tube that runs down the center of the bulb. Don't overlook the obvious. Most failures in TVs that employ a mercury vapor lamp to make a picture are in the lamps.

are you using a PC to feed a signal or maybe a cable with an adapter?
I had the same issue when I used one of the rear HDMI ports to show a PC display. Apparently there is a software difference between the rear and side/front ports. Inputting the PC through the side HDMI port has solved the problem for me (so far!)
