If you saying you can't re-install you computer cause you missing the recovery partition meaning you or someone has formatted the entire drive and you havn't made a set of recovery disks, then the best thing you can do is borrow a disk with the same version of windows you running when you first got it being window xp home or xp pro then you can use the product number that came with your computer on the badge, to re-install it unfortunately you will then have to get the rest the drivers that windows will not detect in start up for your hardware but most can downloaded off the net.

How do you do a hard reset on a Compaq Presario cq50-130us I've tried the F11 thing and it didn't work

According to the manual, only certain models had a recovery partition. The manual covers F11 recovery partition procedures for Windows VISTA, but not for Windows 7. If the unit has an SSD installed, it probably does not have a recovery partition. In that case you should use your recovery disks. These are the disks you were told to create at the time you purchased your PC. You can only make one set of recovery disks with the software provided, but they are only intended to allow you to restore the factory image should it become necessary. Many people do not read their manuals or the setup tutorials and fail to create these disks. Then, later, when they need them they are not available. If you don't have the recovery partition, and don't have recovery disks, then you have a problem. You will need to reload the OS manually, and then download and install the hardware drivers from the Compaq support site.

Lg smart recovery

Resizing the partitions has affected the partition size of the hidden recovery partition. This is why the recovery does not work.
You need to get a Recovery CD for your model LG laptop from the LG WEB site so you can restore your laptop.
You maybe able to download the recovery CD from this site : -

I have an HP Compaq tc4400 that I got from an old friend that had no use of it . but when I turn it on it says Non-system disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready but I dont have a disk ....

It sounds like there's a problem with Windows (assume that's the operating system it used to have). I think you'll need to get a Windows install disk. Installing Windows is actually not that hard, and it sounds like you've got nothing to lose.

If you don't have access to a copy of Windows, why not try out Windows 8 - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-8/release-preview

I assume it'll only be free for a few more days as Windows 8 will be released in under a week now.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Derek.

Lost NTFS partition on my WD1600BEVT, how do you restore so I can use again?

Depends on what you did to "lose" the partition-table.

Download the free 'PTEDIT.ZIP' file -- it is a "partition-table editor".
UNZIP it on a different computer, and extract the 'PTEDIT.EXE' program.
Run PTEDIT on your computer, and update the partition-table.

I want to return to original settings, aspire 1315-2153. I dont have the disk.

You can contact the computer manufacturer and request a system recovery disk. If your computer's partitioning hasn't been altered, you may also be able to boot into a recovery partition and reset your computer that way without having to pay shipping for the recovery cd's. You can find out how to do so at your computer manufacturer's support site, as it differs for each manufacturer.

When i was partitioning my hard disk ,my battery has finished then when i have turn on my note book ,the machin wants the recovery disk but i had not this disk would you please help me ,thanks, ali

you will need the rescue disc that you should have created BEFORE you attempted to partition also partitioning a hard drive whilst on battery power alone was a very foolish thing to do. install the partition software you used on another pc and create a recovery disc with it. Then put that into the laptop and boot from it, hopefully it will attempt to recover the lost partitions, but dont be too hopeful of it actually doing it

RecoveryDisk Creator does not offer any disk selections to create

To access the recovery partition you need to boot up on a DVD with a partition manager on it, then set the hidden partition as "ACTIVE" and un-Active, the existing partition, then remove DVD and reboot, then the laptop will boot from the recovery partition and should autorun start the recovery procedure.

I need to run system recovery for a Dell inspiron 6400, I do not have recovery disks. How do I set it back to out of the box specs?

If ctrl + F11 doesnt work when you first boot up the laptop, then you dont have a restore partition and you will need to reorder restore disks.
