Where is the wireless switch on the dell vostro 200

Unlike notebook computers, most desktops don't come with wireless networking built in. I can't find any mention on Dell's site that the Vostro 200 has wireless capability, so this computer doesn't have a wireless switch. To use your desktop computer on a wireless network, you'll need to install a wireless adapter. USB adapters are very easy to use since you just have to plug them in. They're not expensive and you can easily find them at retail stores and online.

Outside factors that affect connection speeds
Unfortunately, there are events and conditions that are outside your control. Even with a fast connection, external factors, such as busy websites or spreading computer viruses, can slow the entire web. Popular websites can become overwhelmed with users. For example, when a television commercial mentions a website, many people might try to visit the site at the same time. If the website isn't prepared to handle the traffic, you might encounter delays.

During times of heavy computer virus outbreaks, the Internet can slow down. Many viruses spread by causing computers to send out hundreds or thousands of copies of the virus. This can slow the Internet by sheer volume. You can see what major outbreaks are currently happening by visiting your antivirus vendor's website, or the Security at Home website.

Local Internet congestion can also result in slower-than-normal connection speeds. These slowdowns occur when many people try to connect to the Internet at the same time, and they occur most often at peak activity times, such as after school hours when students get home and connect to the web.

If you're on a corporate network, general network and proxy server use can affect your Internet performance. Most network administrators monitor Internet use, and will try to keep people from doing things like downloading large files during peak hours. If you find that your Internet access is slow at times, you might discuss it with your network administrator.
I loaded Windows Internet Explorer 8, and it installed it as an update in May 2356 (the year!). I am now having all sorts of windows is not working messages and would like to know how to fix this. Thank...

Hi I suggest you go to system restore but beware that some program installed prior to chosen date will not appear. To proceed, go to start menu, choose accessories, choose system tools, then choose system restore.

Another way is to run your computer on safe mode to fix some error in your computer because of faulty driver or multiple driver installed with the same driver or faulty installation of software that make your computer to run slower and appears some errors. Here how it works, just restart your computer and when booting press F8 and choose safe mode to fix the errors run your computer on safe mode. Then defragment your computer to fix some errors also by going to start menu, choose accessories, choose system tools, choose disk defragment. After finished, restart your computer and check if it runs faster that before.

If you have, systems back or recovery disk, install it by insert the CD/DVD to CDROM and rebooting your computer. Run the CD as installer and it will install the systems back up. It will go back your computer to normal before.

I hope it helps you.

Hi,

I guess you mean to say recovery well if ur trying to run the destructive recovery from the partiton which you can access from the f10 key for xp and f11 for vista then u need to run the recovery from the recovery cds.If ur facing this issue if ur runing it from the disk then u need to run a test on the hard drive normally this happens if a sector in the hard drive gows bad. When you ran the recovery make sure that the first boot priority is the cd/dvd drive which you can change from the BIOS and you should not connect any extrernal devices not even the cable for the internet ....

Accessing EMachines W3107 Recovery Partion

You can fix this virus without recovering.

Log in normally. Go to run, type in msconfig and go to the startup tab. Uncheck everything and reboot your pc. Once there try your internet. If it's not working go to Internet Options, Connections, Lan Settings, and uncheck anything in your proxy settings. Close IE and reopen. You should be able to connect. Then download and run Malwarebytes, and then run Bitdefender Online scanner.

The only other thing that may be trouble is that there may be a rootkit that neither scanner will detect. You can run Combofix, but this program isn't for the average user. Follow instructions carefully when using Combofix.

My computer is slower than slow...if I take to be repaired are my passwords in jeopardy??????

Do you still have the recovery CD that came with the computer? Recovering your computer will speed it up a lot. If you don't have a recovery CD or a partition on your hard drive for recovery, you're better off buying a new computer that you can restore back to how it came from the factory any time you want. Since I'm not a computer whiz, I do this once a year or so.
