Question about Heating & Cooling

Lennox A/c unit outside is working but not the fan inside

We can hear the outside a/c turn on, but the fan inside is not blowing inside. The thermostat is running a full cycle. The repair man told me that it could be the masterboard. Coils upstairs in the attic are fine, did not see any problems. Please help!

Check all of the above. Fan motor doesn't seem to have a problem either. What else could it be?

Check the 24 v relay that controls the evaporator fan motor, it could be defective or the fan motor itself. could be stuck or has a bad capacitor.

Lennox air conditioner. Outside unit fan stopped spinning. Air coming out inside the home. Unit is on and operating. Fan just stopped. What is wrong and what should i do?

Hello, this sounds like a bad capacitor or bad fan motor. Replace the capacitor, if replacimg the capacitor does not work you have a bad fan motor. Capacitor is usually about 10 bucks where a motor is about 200. So try repacing the cap first.

I have central heat and air lennox brand and yesterday my daughter turned it off all day and now the fan blows inside the house but the unit don't kick in.....

you will need to check the contact on the outside unit, more then likely the relay is not pulling in or the fan motor is not working. When you up the panel it should be a black square with L1 L2 L3 and T1 T2 T3 the Ls are you lines you should have voltage if not then the breaker/fuse is off/bad. if you have voltage you should have the same on top, if not then the contact is bad if it is not pulled in. you can push it in and if should start the fan and compressor. You will also need to check for the 26 volts on the contact as this is what pulls/calls for the unit to work. hope this helped tim

Line to evaporator iced over

I am not exactly sure as to the type of unit you have. If it is a ductless split system (inside unit on the wall, never seen Lennox make one) you could be low on charge, the metering device to drop the refrigerant pressure is in the outdoor unit. If this is a whole house system, you may have a restriction in the outdoor section somewhere. If you look into the unit while it is running, try to find a filterdrier. It is a cylinder soldered into the small line. You can also see exactly where the ice starts, that is where your restriction is. Let me know what you find out.

Lennox air unit not blowing cold air

your fan motor outside is going bad, have a service company change it out for you.

the motor stopped working and that overheated the compressor shutting it down on thermal cutout, and it will only come on once it cools down

Lennox air conditioner is blowing hot air

Check your coils for ice, check your breaker and fuses for condensing unit, and is your condensing fan running? If not, you either have a bad fan motor or capicitor. After you hit the button, and wait for it to time out, (you should hear a click) take a butter knife, and spin the fan if it is not moving. If the fan start spinning by itself after your assistance, you have a bad capacitor
