We just bought ours and are following priming instructions. It keeps displaying NOT READY. Called Customer Service but no technicians available in the evening. Waiting for call back tomorrow with "reset" instructions.

Same problem. I can hear the water trying to heat but NOT as loudly as usual. I think somehow the heating element is no longer working right. Never says "ready".

Coffee will not brew no matter which button is pushed. There is adequate water, I use a new pod and the electrical connection is good. The ready light comes on but after I close the lid the light says "not ready" and only a drop of coffer emits.

I moved my coffee pot to clean, spilled some of the water, and I think it may have done something to the heating element. Either way, I'm taking it back and demanding a new one.

I have bought this 3 times and each time the "not ready" thing happens.  It is like clockwork.  I admit that it seems to happen right at the same time it recommends a cleaning.  By the time I go to do this, it is too late and inoperable.

Try re-opening the handle all the way, then re-closing it.

I need the user manual

Dear friend: I bought mine in 1996 in Orlando. The user manual was so simple with some b/w pictures.
1.- Heat the water.
2.- Over one cup place the thin filter that match perfect and is the bigger one of two elements supplied.
3.- Over the thin filter place the coffe deposit the one that have small holes at the bottom.
4.- Fill the deposit it with coffe for one cup and fill over with hot water slowly from one cup trying not to overflow.
5.- Wait untill the water flows down and your cup of coffe is ready.
6.- For another cup repeat this procedure.

Is a bit long but you can enjoy a room coffe for two.
Its what my experience was. Excelent when you don't find where to boil a cup of water. Now mine machine burns suddenly the heater and I am trying to find the replacement part, but probably should be and adaptation of it.
Good luck. The manual is not much than what I told. Not much manufacturer info. A pitty for a well designed help machine.

Just picked up a new Franzus TJ-10 Coffee Maker at a garage sale, but it has no instructions with it. Can you please tell me just how to operate it. Appreciatively, Vincent

Hi
I am assuming that you have a digital machine. If so, you have to go into the menu and go to "Reset Descale", push the enter button and choose "Yes" and push the button again. Then you can exit the menu and it should be gone.

I need a new cup for my coffe maker!

If you mean the carafe, you're out of luck getting the original. A company called focus electrics handles replacement parts for this brand. Their parts page for this model lists nothing at all.

If you need a new carafe because yours is leaking, join the club. This seems to be a pretty common problem. You can try tightening the screws holding the gasket to the bottom.

If you don't mind losing the one-hand dispensing feature, you might try a universal replacement carafe which may fit. These are usually found with the coffeemakers at retail stores. Or you can buy a new coffeemaker. Sometimes the difference in price between parts and a new machine is pretty small.

Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

CUP HANDLES GET TO HOT WHEN I WARM COFFEE.

It is your cup. The handle density or moisture content of the handle is causing the mwave to heat it. The rest of the cup contains a liquid (coffee?) that is absorbing any heat generated in the body of the cup. Use a different cup!
