How to use the webcam on my netbook

Your web cam works with software. Any video chat programs or web programs will allow your camera to function. Like Yahoo, MSN, Google, Skype, ooVoo... So you would need a installed a computer program that would give you more control. Check with the manufacturer to see what they have that would give you this kind of control. logitech.com if it's a logitech CAM. If the software isn't compatible with the version of windows.. Then the CAM would only work with web based programs (Skype, ooVoo, yahoo......)

2 Use the Instant Messenger program on the Acer Linux-based laptop or netbook to work the webcam. The Acer Instant Messenger program is available in the Connect folder on the Acer laptop's desktop screen.
3 To send and receive live video and pictures using your webcam on an Acer laptop, work the webcam through individual communications software, including Skype, Windows Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, or Google Video Chat. Open your selected communications software program and click the webcam button to work your webcam.

The drivers for the webcam should be pre-installed on the netbook so that the webcam turns on whenever a program needs to use (e.g. msn chat).
If you want to take pictures (like photo booth on mac) you can try the website cameroid.com/.

i believe that if you click on your computer icon you may see the webcam in there
just click on the webcam and it should open for you
then click away and enjoy

Try opening My Computer, look for the webcam icon, double click, and you should see the webcam working. Click on "take a picture" and some such, and hey presto, you should have a picture of your cute little face.

Hi,after taking the pictures,it could either be saved in the pictures folder or another,usually to verify which,open crystal eye webcam software look for the settings tab,or tools,or advance options tab etc,locate where you have "save pictures to",select Browse to see exactly the location of your saved pictures and you could possibly select a new location.

Remove all the pictures out of your Pictures folder. Just move them to a folder on your desktop or somewhere. When all the pictures are out of your Picture folder you Acer Crystal Eye Webcam should start to work.

if we are talking about the same acer netbook then it doesnt really have a self timer web cam picture. you may use your mouse to capture a picture though.

Select models of Acer netbooks also ship with a program "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam". This program will enable the webcam immediately after startup and can be used to take pictures and record video.

For our Linux-based netbook, you can find the Instant Messenger program in the "Connect" section on the desktop . Additional software like Skype, are available through our special website for the Aspire One netbook. Within the "Fun" section of your Linux desktop, you will find a program called "Webcam" which can be used to test the built-in webcam.


Look for "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam" entry in the programs menu, then right click on the program icon and click on "Send to the desktop as a shortcut".
