So what i've read, is that realtek ac97 is the sound card but with possible different drivers...hence soundmax and default (realtek ac97)....so try installing either/or with other uninstalled

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Think i accidentally deleted realtek ac 97 audio. now i've got no sound

Access the vendor (Dell? eMachines? Acer?) web-site,
click "support" or "downloads", and enter your model-number,
and download the "audio" device-driver. Install from the download.

Not installed the sound drivers on the computer

Hi,

Finding eMachine drivers can be a frustrating task.

Have a look here though:

http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket478/D845GVSR_downloads.shtml

Scroll down until you see Audio: Realtek & Audio: Soundmax.

You will need one of these drivers but I'm not 100% sure which one you will need but my best guess would be the Realtek Driver.

So try the Realtek file first and if that doesnt work then you could also try the Soundmax file after.

I hope this helps

Mike

HI

Below are two links where you can find the drivers for your sound card.
After downloadiing them follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.

You can also do it through your Device Manager console.

http://www.download.com/Realtek-AC-97-Driver-Windows-98-Me-2000-XP-2003-/3000-2120_4-10238712.html

You might want to also try the realtek website for more info.
Hope everything works fine

RealTek AC Audio97

hi sweets6;
did you uninstall the old drivers before you install the new one? try to un-install it first by right clicking the audio device then select un-install, restart, then install the driver, restart and try to see if it works.

let me know :)
