Question about Digital Cameras

My panasonic pv gs32 camcorder is stuck and the tape won't pop up. I get a "press reset button" message and when I do this I hear it trying to lift up and out, but it doesn't move at all. Are they any steps I can take other than taking the battery out and recharging and trying it again?

Okay I have tried taking the battery out, resetting the reset button and still the mechanism doesn't move out or in. I can't shut the door because the tape carraige is in the way. Is there anything else I should try?

Try this:

  1. Open the tape door on the bottom.
  2. LEAVE IT OPEN.
  3. Power off your camcorder and remove the battery.
  4. With the battery removed, move the power switch to ON.
  5. LEAVING THE POWER ON AND THE TAPE DOOR OPEN, replace the battery.
  6. The tape should eject without damage.

Let me know.

My Sony DCR-TRV240 camcorder won't eject the tape. The power and all camera features work, but it won't eject a tape.

I'm sorry that the Camcorder is not ejecting tape. Please follow the troubleshooting steps provided below and check the operation:

1. Please make sure that the battery is fully charged. 2. Perform Reset by following steps:

1. Locate the RESET button behind the LCD panel of the camcorder. 2. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds. 3. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.

3. Perform a manual power reset by following the steps:

1. Turn off the camcorder. 2. Disconnect AC power adapter. 3. Remove the battery pack. 4. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds. 5. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position. 6. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack. 7. Turn on the camcorder.

If the issue persists after following all the steps service will be required. You can find repair information and initiate service at:

Panasonic pvgs50d minidv camcorder- problems started when i couldnt see the record time half the time then as time went on I couldnt load a tape, but it will go down and i can close the cover without a...

It seems like your carriage unit needs servicing.. basically the gears that load the tape and move the tape wheels have become worn.. You can attempt to repair this your self at the risk of rendering it useless. YOu can call a service center and let them service it or you can take it in to a profession technician and let him rebuild the gear to gear ratio for you ..

If any other experts have other suggestions you can try, please by all means try them, take mine as a last resort..

PV-DC152D CAMCORDER, LCD Display only works if it is pulled out, turned 180 degrees and pushed back into place so the display is facing you. If you move the LCD display over 3/4" away from camcorder...

The most likely problem is a cracked ribbon cable that goes between the camera and the display. The cable needs to be replaced. Typical cost for this is around $40 or so plus labor. I would not suggest that you attempt this repair yourself as opening up these units is not easy without experience. Also, there are cables that can be damaged if opened incorrectly.

I haven't used it in a couple of years, it's in excellant condition I think, but it has a code flashing and I am unsure what to do.

That's what I will try and do. Here's what we need to do:

Sony® camcorders nowadays have a built-in rechargeable battery for retaining time, date, and other settings. Since the built-in rechargeable battery is not removable, current camcorder models can only be returned to the original factory settings by pressing a small RESET button on the camcorder.
Older-model camcorders (prior to the year 2000) do not have a built-in rechargeable battery or RESET button, and require a manual power reset.
IMPORTANT: To determine whether or not your camcorder has a RESET button, or if model-specific information is required to complete any of the steps in this solution, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport Web site.
Follow the appropriate procedure below for your camcorder.
Using a RESET button
  1. Locate the RESET button on the camcorder.
  2. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds.
  3. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.
Performing a manual power reset
  1. Turn off the camcorder.
  2. Disconnect AC power adapter.
  3. Remove the battery pack.
  4. Remove the lithium button-cell battery.
  5. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds.
  6. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position.
  7. Reinsert the lithium button-cell battery.
  8. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack.
  9. Turn on the camcorder.
If your camcorder is experiencing an issue and the issue is not resolved by performing the appropriate reset procedure above, then service may be required. The Sony® eService Web site at http://eservice.sony.com/ can assist you in obtaining service from a Sony Service Center or locating a Sony Authorized Servicer.

Let me know how it turns out.

Taking photo's requiring the flash.

the flash housing unit is stucked!!  Try to do this: use around 3 inches sticky tapes like scotch tape or masking tape, stick the 1/3 part on the flash housing unit , now set the release button while pulling the tape upward, do not apply too much force, you are trying to help the housing to go upward not to detached it, ha ha..( the sticky tape is safe to use, dont worry). It always work but in case it does not work from your unit try this dangerous one, using small metal and pressing the release button try to open the door ( yes, like opening the stucked door!), its dangerous that yo might detached the housing from the unit, so be carefull.
