PS2 slim powers on, but nothing shows on the screen

When I turn on the PS2, the green light lights up but nothing shows up on the screen. The browser screen doesn't show up. I tried another set of cables, but that doesn't work either. Tried cleaning the PS2 but that didn't help. Any ideas??

Turn on the console while pressing START on the joystick 1, wait 10 seconds, release START then reset the console. If nothing appears on the screen, the console is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the console starts, replace the Modchip.

My playstation 2 won't turn on at all

Can either be the power button(pretty common issue or a loose connector).Depend what kind of machine you have .PS2 have a common denominator...but actually the machine are different each other. The FAT one and the Slim one are totally different

PLAYSTATION 2 SLIM LINE CONSOLE WONT CUT ON / RED LIGHT WONT TURN ON OR GREEN LIGHT

The Power Connector has probably come unsoldered inside the PS2 console. The motherboard is a multilayered board and normal soldering can sometimes total a motherboard. Click on "Repair Directory" at the bottom of this Screen. Click on "Video Game Consoles" on the next Screen, Investigate which Repair shop can help you best.

Ps2 slim will not power up

usually, there is a problem with a ribbon cable of power/reset switch. Try using a replacement ribbon of the same type.

PS2 slim Power Problem - Light is red goes green but nothing else.

Hi Leostg,

I have seen this a couple of times.  Lightning or an overload has burned up the motherboard. Its not a fuse, its a fried Emotion Engine processor.   Best advice on dead motherboard is to probably total it unless you can get a low price motherboard replacement. My cost on a new motherboard for slim is about $55.  If you want it fixed, replace the motherboard.  Really you may be able to get another Slim for $55 or less. If you look on ebay  for another motherboard do not take any chances on used motherboards. Go for a broken slim model that will boot up but want read discs. When you get one that boots up, use its motherboard in your Slim.  This will be your best deal at getting your slim up and running once more.

Please give me a Solved vote. I believe you only get one vote and its locked.   I have put a lot into your solution and hope you will show appreciation by voting solved.
