I had this scanner for almost three years now. and it's just recently that i'm having problems with it's feeder. for the last couple of days, the document feeder wasn't able to pick up the paper to be scanned. i tried to check on the roller mechanism to see if there's something wrong with it. when i put it back,, it worked but not quite good though because it would pick up the paper after a couple of attempts. and just now, the document feeder would not pick up the paper at all.. i treid removing the roller assembly but still it won't work. can you help me with this? i really need this be fixed for my work is piling up already. thank you.

Problem is in mechanical parts in ADF especially in rubber rollers so best solution is to change them. In this link below you can find (Hewlett-Packard Roller replacement kit for automatic document feeder (ADF) - C9937-68001).
You would face the taxt or images face up then you would scan it by using the program it came with if it did or any othere program the can scan documents and imagees on you computer. Make shure all conecsions are conect property and the software is installed.
I take it the scanner is connecting to your pc okay? the paper need to engage in the feeder. Try just putting one piece of a4 copy paper in the scanner and seeing if that will register as beng paper in the document feeder.
I had a similar problem where I had a jam, cleared it and it was not working again. It was a new machine within the store's warranty where I can return things no questions asked, so I returned it and got a new one. The new feeder won't catch at all and I never had any jams with the new unit - I put a stack of paper in to convert to PDF and it will do one at a time, or if it does do more than one, it misses stuff.
I never had a problem on the old machine until the jam. I don't know why the new one is not working.
