Question about Linksys (WRT54GC) Router
I have a Linksys BEFSR41 V.2 router which is locked in the diag function with the LINK and DIAG LEDs on. A reset does nothing and none of the 4 ports are active. This condition started when COVAD did a diag of the system. I have replace the router but I would like to get this working as it has been a great router for about 8 years. It has worked FLAWLESSLY till this time and has the original firmware.
The only way to revive the router is by doing a reset. If it still won't work I hate to be the to tell you this but the router is busted. Consider yourself lucky that it worked flawlessly for eight years. =)

Tips for a great answer:
Checking the Router's LEDs
Make sure the System LED is lit.
NOTE: If the Diag LED doesn't goes off, you need to upgrade the router's firmware. For instructions, click here .
Make sure the LAN 1-8 ports is lit depending on the computers connected to the designated Ethernet port.
NOTE: If the LAN 1-8 port is not lit, make sure that the computer is powered on. You can also try connecting the PC using another working cable.
Make sure the Internet (WAN1) and DMZ/Internet (WAN2) LED is lit.
NOTE: If the Internet or DMZ/Internet LED is not lit make sure the Broadband modem is powered on and that the modem is properly connected to the Ethernet port
