KAC-X520 kenwood 1000w amp

My amp has a blinking red light on the top with input, but no output. I looked at the board and there was nothing obviously burnt so I just cleaned it real good and was crossing my fingers, but still no luck. Any ideas?Much appreciated!

It's not the ground, cause I measured the voltage across and the ground is fine. Plus I have a two amp fuse box which of course both amps are run through the incoming ps. The other amp works just fine. The remote wire is good cause I jumpered that, same problem. I think I'm just screwed unless anybody knows something I don't! Don't buy kenwood, they really have gone down hill.

A red light indicates you got no power check your wiring you may not have a good ground, you need the green light to come on

Kenwood excelon x1r red light blinks

You've got a faulty amp there. The blinking indicates that the output stage that drives the speakers are shorted, most likely due to running too low of an impedance off the amp and it shutting down continuously. The Output stage would need to be replaced by a tech as they are soldered onto the PCB and thermally coupled to the aluminum chassis internally.
Unfortunately there are no resets you can perform, or anything else besides component replacement on this amp.

What does it mean if my amp light dims and shuts off when the bass hits

Could be a number of things: Low power to amp, bad ground connection, faulty amp, or even speaker being overloaded or wired wrong. Check your connections and the wattage of the amp and speakers.

My red light is blinking and the screen says E-03 and i am not sure what it means

Red lights and error codes usually mean a fault ha occurred. Usually blown output transistors or input power supply caps are to blame. Don't try to fix unless you are comfortable with doing that and have the equipment. Also try emailing Kenwood tech support, they will be happy to tell you exactly what the error code is and possibly why it is happening.

On a kac-x650d does the power light stay on or flash

Hello mpredday,

The Kenwood Excelon KAC-X650D power light is ON during normal operation. It blinks blue to indicate BMS selection, yellow for low voltage, purple for DC voltage on the outputs, red for overheating, and green for a shorted or grounded speaker wire.

Hope this helps.

Kenwood kac-7204 1000w amp with 12 in sub what size wires nedded to use

bigger the better my friend. Look at your Peak RMS output, and how long of wire you need. Then you could make the judgment call on how thick or what gauge you need. (2 involved factors power + distance). id say 10 gauge and you would be fine.

Try to take out the lights that you put in yourself, but do it carefully, as you might have bridged out the power connectors that go through to your subs.
