Question about Jenn-Air 34 in. Expressions CVGX2423 Gas Cooktop
Model # CVG2420B
They all worked perfect, they all quit at once. The exhaust fan works great, the cook top is plugged in. We are doing some tile work to the wall behind the cook top and we had a small throw rug on top of the cook top to protect it from dust. But there was never any pressure or stress on the controls. Is there a fuse? A breaker? No electrical or wiring has been disturbed or changed during any of this work.
I am solving the same problem on my thermador cooktop now. From what I can tell there is an electrical box inside the unit that generates the spark. called the ignition control unit or ignition device. I bought a new unit at http://wwaparts.com/index.php and had it on my doorstep the next day. The next trip is taking off the burners to get inside your cooktop so you can replace it.
