Question about Arris SURFboard SB4220 Modem
I'm guessing that the unit is bad and may have taken a surge, if it's plugged into the wall directly, or a poorly grounded cable connection...things can happen...all my "stuff" is surge protected and or hooked up via UPS to keep the power clean. I have heard of no issues with this product...but it's not unheard of. cold solder joints usually show up right away for example if you wiggle the RJ connector does the network connection light go on and off as you wiggle...that is a sign of a bad connector or a cold solder joint...but the process of soldering the boards these days are all automated so chances are that the soldering is ok. have you tried via USB?...
