    I need the model # which you can find on any top loader under the the bottom of the washer door when its in the open position and on the
    door jam of the tub, if you squat down with you eyes level to the top of the front end of the washer you will see the label with the model and serial #.
    then I can under stand the mechanics of your washer. Waiting your response!

Water is cold


2 THINGS i WOULD CHECK ARE THE WATER TEMP SWITCH AND THE WATER INLET VALVE. LASTLY SOME MODELS ALSO HAVE A THERMISTOR U WILL NEED TO CHECK IT AS WELL.

You can also do a live volt test to see if it is getting the full 120 current, but be sure to unplug unit before testing as this is a live test.
Also another trick to check the water valve, is to first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. I

My GE Adora washer constantly fills regardless of the cycle even in spin. I replaced the inlet water valve and float switch.


Washer fills with water and overflows:

The water pressure level switch is a pressure activated switch that is used to determine the correct water level in the tub. This part is normally located behind the control panel and will have a hose or air dome tube that connects it to the tub. On washers that use an electronic control, this switch may be located at the sump area below the tub. As the water fills in the tub it will compress the air in the tube and push against a diaphragm inside the switch. The switch will control the water inlet valve and turn the valve off at the correct water level. If the tube has a leak, not enough pressure may be created to activate the switch and the washer may overfill. If the switch is defective it may also cause the machine to overfill. To determine if the switch is bad, you should first eliminate the air dome hose as a problem. Look for signs of cracks or worn areas on the hose. Remove the hose and submerge in water. Seal one end and blow air into the other end and look for bubbles. Check for an obstruction in the hose as well. If the air dome hose appears to be ok, then the water level switch may be defective.

You can test it with a meter and with a manual test? ( first locate it in the panel, it has a plastic clear tube hose going into it, remove that tube from its connection, now put another small tube or hose into the slot where it was and have the machine set to wash cycle with water in it. Blow into the other end of the tube.
If the machine starts to wash. the pressure switch is more than likely good
( No wash- then THE DIAPHRAGM IS BAD AND SWITCH HAS TO BE REPLACED).

lastly if after checking these then u may have a bad mother board

My dryer had no water going into the container

# Test procedures to follow

* Disconnect the washer from the wall outlet
* Set the timer dial on regular and pull the knob to turn the timer push-pull switch on
* Set the temperature switch to the cold/cold setting
* Open the controls panel to gain access to the water mixing valve solenoids
* Touch the 2 terminals on the cold water solenoid with your volt meter test proves. Make sure that your body don't touch the washer cabinet, this eliminate the chance of getting an electrical shock.
* Have someone plug the washer cord for you while you check the voltage
* The reading should be 120 volts
* Disconnect the washer from the wall outlet
* Touch the 2 terminals on the hot water solenoid with your volt meter test proves. Remember, to keep your body from touching the washer cabinet to eliminate the chance of getting an electrical shock

Have your helper plug in the washer cord again so you could check the voltage at the hot water solenoid

The reading should be 120 volts. If you get 120 volts, this tells you that the wall outlet, the timer, the water temperature switch cold and hot water settings are working ok.

If the washer is not filling, the problem should be on the water valve, the screen filters or the water supply

If one of the solenoids is bad you will need to replace the complete water mixing valve assembly YOU SHOULD ALSO GET AN OHMS READING OR SHOW CONTINUITY WHEN TESTED UNPLUGGED ON BOTH SELINOIDS HOT AND COLD

To check the water valve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed.
If you still don't have good water pressure, the problem is in your house plumbing and you need to call a plumber. If you had good water pressure the first time you performed the test, the water valve is bad and needs replacing.

My machine 4E doesn't want wash and doesn't fill water

Fh showing on my kenmore washer


First try turning off the machine for 30 minutes. Then check your inlet valve. Shut off valve, switch off machine & see if the water comes full flow. Check the filters on the machine inlet entry, they could be blocked, clean out.

The FH indicates a fill failure and this is usually caused by a bad water valve, flow meter or pressure switch.

One key to determining the cause of the FH error is how fast the error comes up in a cycle. If the error appears within 1 or 2 minutes then the most likely cause will be the water valve or flow meter.

If the error doesn't appear for several minutes then the pressure switch can be the source of the problem.

Both water valves must be turned on and working. Even if a cold wash is selected at some point during the fill the hot water valve will be energized and if there is no water then the FH error will show up. Sometimes a consumer will turn the hot water valve off to save energy but you can't turn one valve off on this washer.

Inlet valves can be purchased thru the net and fitted by you easily.

Getting the FH error message. have flushed the hoses, checked water supply and hose screens, unplugged it, etc. problem persists.....worked fine yesterday


FH error indicates that either you have no water coming into the washer, or very little water. Since you can see it filling, the error indicates low flow. A flow meter
in the unit detects if 10.5 gallons fills the tub within 8 minutes; yours must not be. This will turn off the inlet valves and the error code will be displayed. Check the following:

- Make sure you don't have a siphoning problem. This occurs when there is no air gap for the drain line at the standpipe. The standpipe is the drain pipe at the wall where the washer drain line is placed. With no air gap, a vacuum is created, and water will begin to drain from the wash tub prematurely. To prevent this from occurring, follow this advice:

•The standpipe should be 2 inches in diameter to allow a sufficient air gap between the top of the standpipe and the drain hose.
•The standpipe should be a minimum of 34" from the floor, and should not exceed 72 inches in height.
•DO NOT seal the top of the standpipe. Many consumers seal the standpipe in the belief that this will prevent overflows, or get rid of drain odors. This often creates more problems than solutions.
•DO NOT place the drain hose too far down into the pipe. Water stays in the drain trap area of the standpipe. If the end of the drain hose rests in this area, no air gap is created, and this can also cause siphoning. 4 to 6 inches is sufficient.
•The drain hose length must not exceed 10 feet in length. Excessive drain hose length can cause drain problems and back wash.
- Verify Drain Pump operation. Unplug the washer and take the lower panel under the door off by removing the three screws under the bottom edge. With the screws removed, the panel should drop down then come off. If it sticks, tap either side and it should come free. The pump is located directly under the wash tub in the front of the washer. Verify the electrical connections are good and that the pump is running. Open the pump access and remove, once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there's nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.


- Verify Flow meter operation and that the Pressure Switch hoses are intact and connected properly. Remove the three screws in the top panel along the back of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel should slide back, then, lift off. The flowmeter will be located on the left-hand side of the washer (facing from the front) between the inlet valve and dispenser. It's a small white plastic device with hoses attached. The pressure switch is located on the right-hand side of the washer in the rear. It is a round plastic device with electrical connections and a hose attached. There should be a tech sheet directly behind the panel or attached to one of the interior cabinet walls. Please refer to this sheet to learn how to perform diagnostics, how to locate the components mentioned, and the specific measurements required in determining if the components are good or bad.


"F/H" indicates that either you have no water coming into the washer, or very little water.

If you have NO water coming into the wash tub after 30 seconds the error code is displayed. Check the following:

- Inlet water valve may be clogged. Clean inlet screens if necessary.
- Make sure water taps are on.
- Check inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.

If you HAVE water filling the wash tub, and after 8 minutes, 10.5 gallons of water has been detected by the flowmeter, but there has not been a detected a Pressure Switch trip, the inlet valves are turned off and the error code is displayed. Check the following:

- Verify Flowmeter operation.
- Verify the Pressure Switch hoses are intact and connected properly.

To access the Drain Pump - UNPLUG the washer and take the lower panel under the door off by removing the three screws under the bottom edge. HINT: Propping the front feet of the washer up can make access much easier. I use a couple small blocks of wood. With the screws removed, the panel should drop down then come off. If it sticks, tap either side and it should come free. The pump is located directly under the wash tub in the front of the washer. Water over flowing


I will assume that your machine does not run. It just fills and fills until it overflows and you shut it off.
This is not to difficult to troubleshoot and repair.
There is a plastic hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to a pressure switch inside your control panel. This hose is flexible and between the size of a marker and an ink pen. As the water level rises, the air in the tube is pushed up into the pressure switch. When the correct pressure is reached, the switch shuts off the inlet valve which will stop the water flow.
You must make sure that the hose is not pinched, cracked, or disconnected on either end. Any of these will give the pressure sensor/switch a false reading.
If the hose is okay, then the switch is your most likely problem. It simply has 2 electrical connections and the hose running to it. Replacing it should be fairly simple and inexpensive. Good luck.

FH is a code satinf there is no water entering the machine, check our water supply to the unit.
heres alink. use ghw9400 as a midel)its a whirlpool machine, i dont have acess ti the sears site. same tch sheet though)heres the explaination of the FH anyways:

Possible Causes / Procedure

This what to check for F/H code from repair manual.
If the water is coming into machine, make sure drain hose is only sticking into drain pipe about 6 inches. Post back if you have any questions.


No water detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected.
If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then
valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed.
Or
If the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has
detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure
switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash.
Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
Potential Causes
• If there is no water in the unit:
• Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
• Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves
