Acer Aspire 5720Z- Had a Norton Trojan, Now I Cant Get On!
Please if you can help me I will appreciate it! My computer came with a 90 day trial of Norton Security Suite. I made a big mistake by clicking it.
All I got from it was a huge Trojan. Before the computer quit letting me on I went to Bios and set the password to clean. When I went on the next time a box poped up and said I need to set a a password. I put in the box the word -clean-. Now the computer is using that little word to keep me out of the computer altogether!
The Acer came with Windows Vista Home Premium preinstalled.Ive
ordered the recovery disks from Acer. But now I cant get past the message "Wrong Password" to use them.Ive put enough money into this thing that dont work. Is there a way to fix this without spending anymore money?
This computer was bought in May of this year and got the Trojan in June and I havent got to use it since.

yes they will, you need to cancel the trial. no free trial of anything is worth giving your bank details. the small print will say something like " if you dont cancel within 7 days we will take £££ by direct debit every *** " why would they need your bank details for a "FREE" trial ?.. thats because most people forget or dont know how to cancel so they get at least one payment out of your "free" trial . if they do take a payment and its a monthly subscription you will still have to cancel the free trial because if you only cancel the direct debit they can still charge you because they are supplying a service. get in touch with them straight away. ( hopefully you havent signed up to 12 months contract starting when free trial stops )
We appreciate the business and would love to help you, but if the issue was a defect and within the 30-90 days they should have exchanged it for you. Sounds like you got a bad battery, or bad charging element. There is no way testing it over email but you can use a VOM meter to check and see if the unit is delivering charge back to the battery.
Hello, If the disc does not spin it will cause the optical reader to not read the disc, which will give you the "no disc" or "invalid disc" error. If a disc will not spin, the most common cause of this is due to a spindle motor malfunction. The good news is that it can be fixed on average of between $70-90 dollars depending on what service repair technicians charge in your local area. You can fix the problem yourself if you have the patience and a bit of knowledge, but I can tell you from first hand experience it is a pain to do this.
The pictures below provide you an idea of what you are looking at.
I hope this helps give you an idea of what the problem is and helps you solve the issue.

December 27, 2008 received by email from Ann M. Just like John H, my problem was also capacitor C226, but in my case overheating wasn't the give-away here. Instead, I noticed the bottom of the capacitor appeared melted a little and the top looked like it was slightly bulged. I removed the damaged capacitor and replaced it with a new one rated at 35 volts and now my DRC8335 is working perfectly again!
It worked it cost me 4 hours on hold with the Republic of the Philippines. Being told the new Unit sent had a 90 day warranty. It did they were right after 90 days it stopped working. The part was a Radio Shack 272-1030.
This error message is due to an improper format, that your dvd player can't handle. To correct this you need to use a program such as nero and in nero is a program called nero vision, that will recode the movie file into a dvd playable format.

If the unit is showing "wrong disk" on every disk that you try to play, unfortunately, the unit has developed a defect and needs to be replaced. Our warranty is 90 days from the date of purchase. If you've had the player longer than 90 days, I regret to inform you it is out of warranty.
