Ink system has failed. Unable to copy, receive faxes, or print.
Error: Oxc18a0201
Turning Power on and off again does not work.
I do not know how to purge ink and I got a new set of Ink cartridges.
Please help me understand how to purge and release air build up.

- I called HP and solved the issue by forcing the initiating process of the C7280. They told me that my printer didn't recognize the new print color cartridge I installed, so the tech support guy said that we had to make it recognize it by having me me push star and pound together and then go through the trouble shooting which I forgot how, but you can call 18004746836 and ask for tech support and give them this number 8016926730 and they will help you walk through the troubleshooting method that helped me solve my problem.HP Tech Support is the way to go. Call them.

Hello rjjgraphics.
This is a serious hardware issue in the unit and in most cases , the unit needs to be replaced, so there is a less chance of the issue getting resolved.

By Terry Richardson: I just had this exact issue with my C7280. I called HP Tech support, got a body in Bangalore or someplace, and was pleasantly surprised that they were prompt and knowledgeable, and solved the issue very quickly after transferring my call one time to a hardware support expert.
Here are the details. Got the Ink System Failure message. The error code shows was '0xc18a0005'. The tech had me press and hold the '*' key on the key pad, then press the '#' key and release them both. Then he had me enter '123' to enter maintenance mode. He then had me press the right arrow (beside the OK button) until System Config. menu appeared on panel. Then pressed OK two times to clear the error condition, then cancel two or three times to return to the top menu. Then powered off and back on, printed a test page just fine, copied a document fine.
I hope this help those who have similar issues.

Hi there,
IssueAn 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel. The printer cannot copy, receive faxes, or print. Solution
Press the On button to turn the printer off.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
Remove all the ink cartridges.
Wait two minutes.
Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
Press the On button to turn the printer on.
Install the ink cartridges when prompted.
If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved.

Call HP as stated above (18004746836). My error code was 0xc05d0381. I got it after I replaced the black ink cartridge. The error code resulted in a replacement unit, with no possible fix. Fortunately under warranty, they delivered
