One of the phones ( all are kx-T7736 using TVs-50 for messeges) ... is controling the main messege for our system,,, however I can not access the feature that will let me change that main messege... I usually press intercom 107 and then 5 to get there but on that particular phone it wont let me do it

The VTech 6041 isn't an answering machine. If you subscribe to a voicemail system offered by your telephone company then the phone will let you access it. See the instructions on page 12 of the manual. For instructions on setting up and accessing the voicemail system, you'll need to contact your telephone company.
you will need to have the admin program and a cable to connect to the system to re-make the mail box 990 or call a forwarded phone and get their voicemail box and press star and log into mail box 999 and create the user 990. If its older and you have a keyboard and monitor simply make mail box 990 and turn on DND.
the night mode message that is being used is the main phone's (phone with lowest Ext. number) night mode message that was customized through it's voice mail.go on the main phone and listen to its voice mail. If there is a voice mail button on the other set/s, press it, then [#], then [*] and your mailbox number.
If there is no button, press [intercom] 165, [#], [*] and your maibox number.
Note that 165 is a common voice mail extention number, but it may vary from site to site.
First, there are two things you need to know. The DKT3010 phone will work on different Toshiba phone systems AND you can have different voice mail systems. The phone system and voice mail are separate to some extent. You need to know the model of the Toshiba main control unit and it would help to know for sure which voice mail system you have.
You SHOULD have an administrator's guide for the system and voice mail or someone at the office in control of making simple changes to the system... however, depending on the company that originally installed the system you may have gotten nothing (hopefully they are still in business and you know who they are!!) Most of these systems can be programmed over the phone quickly by the company that originally installed it. There are probably passwords that you would need to know to change any programming features and if you don't know what they are you would be out of luck.
Your best bet is to find the company that installed the system. There may even be a sticker on the main control unit with their contact info. Next I would try to find a local installation company that could help you get the changes made and set you up with a way to make future simple changes yourself. Get ALL the information needed to make any changes like passwords etc.. even if you do not want to do it yourself, you NEED to have this information in case the company goes out of business!
