If you look at the existing printhead, you have a sticker with somekind of a target pattern, just look above in the molded plastic there is a small tab, just press on it , it will release the printhead..

i really had to look toroughly myself, and i ve been a service tech for 18years.

have fun

Printhead won't Print color ink black yellow purple blue red cyan magenta

The Kodak printhead is known to dry out. You can call kodak customer service and complain your printhead is failling explain you have run the printhead cleaning many times waisting your ink. They should ship you a new printhead.

or if you dont want to wait on the phone....

I have found lysol hand wipes to work wonders on the kodak printhead. I have an ESP 5 and I have wiped the printhead with a lysol hand wipes many times and it works like new. Here is a link to the product.

http://lysol.com/products/disinfecting-wipes/dwipes-4-in-1/

To wipe the printhead follow these instuctions.

remove the printhead from the printer. put the tanks back into the printhead. Be very carefull not to drop the printhead and do not put the printhead on a table with the nozzle plate down (where the ink comes out). take the hand wipe fold it a couple times. Gently wipe the printhead nozzel plate in the direction of the lines on the nozzle plate do not do a circular motion or wipe against the grain. you may not even have to use a wiping motion. you can just place the wipe on the nozzles and let the printhead soak. this will clear up dried up ink and unclog the nozzles.

put the printhead back into the printer run one printhead clean once to purge the ink and try to print.

I hope this helps.

Why does the printer ask for calibration every time I turn on the printer?

It seems, Printhead has come loose or has gone corrupt.
Try reseating the printhead, do calibration. It should help you out.

1. Take both ink cartridges out.
2.Take printhead out
3. Wait for 10 seconds.
4. Put the Printhead back in.
5. Wait for 5 seconds.
6. Put the cartridges back in.
7. Go to Maintenance (Printer Conrol Panel or ? Help on your Home /Center software) and clean printhead.

NOTE: If issue still persists, pls contact kodak for printhead replacement.

Best Of Luck

How to install new printhead

first You need to open the printer access door of your printer for you to able see the ink cartridges and the printhead. Now if the printhead already on the center remove first the ink cartridges. Now without the ink on the printhead you should see a white sticker or bulleye sticker on the middle of the printhead, Now On that sticker put your index finger upside down then move your index finger upward until you feel a latch or a tab that you can press, just press and pull, i guarantee you it wil removed.

Now if the printhead is removed put your printhead on the carriage then put the printhead all the way in until you hear a click sounds.

Note: Just take a time the latch or a tab on the printhead is hidden it will take a time for you to remove it especialy if this your first time to do it. That's base On my experince

Change print head on kodak 5300 printer

Are your asking how to replace the printhead?

First you need to turn On the printer and open the printer access door where you can see the Ink. Now wait for the Printhead to stop into the middle then remove the ink cartridges both ink and black., Now to rmove the Old printhead you need to press a Tab which is hidden on the printhead., heres the step to remove the printhead which for me the hardest part

-Point your index finger on the white sticker that attached on the printhead or the bullseye sticker(If theres no white sticker on the print head just put your index finger on the middle of the printhead)

-Now your index finger is on the middle of the white sticker right? Move your index finger upward unti you feel a latch that you can press., Just press and full then your printhead wil be removed

-Now Your ready to insert your new printhead
-To insert new printhead just put the printhead on the carriage of the printer and gently press the white sticker of your new printhead make sure that you will hear a clicking sounds then put your cartridges back

-Theres some instances that the printhead will not stay on the middle., it keeps on staying on the right or on the leftside for you to solve that heres the step

-Turn on the printer open printer access door and wait for the printhead move into the center and if the printhead its on the center immediately unplug the power cable so the printhead will not move.
