They will be available on canon's web site. If not, it is not a compatible OS.

SOURCE: driver download

Dear Sami Kotaich,

unfortunately your Cannon has not released drivers for vista for this product.

I can give you one suggestion; connect your scanner with vista PC and atleast let it try to install necessary USB drivers. once it has been done you will see message your hardware installed or there was a problem installing drivers for your hardware and it may not work properly.

now leave scanner connected and go in start menu- programs- accessories- paint

once you are in paint click on File Menu then From Scanners or Cameras. if it does recognize and you get scan wizard then you will be able to use your scanner on vista. but if it doesn't recognize then I am sorry you might need to get more authentic recommendation from Cannon support.

let me know does it work or not? or if any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Many Thanks.

AJoshi

I got mine working after experiencing the same problem.

I had mine hooked up to a USB hub, after I hooked it directly to the USB ports in the back of my computer, everything just worked fine.

Weird that it worked on the USB hub on XP and not vista though.

There are no available drivers for windows 7 operating system for your scanner. You can download the official windows xp drivers from this link and before run the downloaded file right click on the file and at the compatibility section check the windows xp sp3 compatibility option and hit apply - ok. After this run the file as usual. This procedure will install the drivers is windows xp sp3 compatibility mode.

SOURCE: Canon Canoscan D1259U2F dont have any driver for Windows 7 64-bit

Unfortunately, Canon is not supporting Win7 for your scanner. There is a Vista driver (and one for XP). If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, you can run your scanner in the XP mode (that creates virtual PC). To access the scanned documents, you may need to transfer them to an external medium to share between the "two" computers.

I hope this helps.

Hello Charmaine,

Sorry to tell you but your scanner is not compatible with Windows 7. It only supports Windows 98, 2000, ME and Windows XP.

I have windows 7 and am looking for a driver for my scanner. It is a CanoScan D646U. what is the easiest way to get the driver for my scanner?

Ther is NO driver above windows XP on the Canon website for this device. You can try for yourself by clicking the link below, but I suspect you will need a newer scanner. Sorry, Ian.

Try to run windows vista in compatibility mode. If you can't find the driver for it, even under driverguide.com, this is about the only other thing you can try.
