I am having a huge problem in registering my brother product online.reasonably speaking,i have purchased the product in 2004,august 17 from a staples store in long island city,ny.however,my contact number at the time was (718)752-9131 but now has changed to (347)730-4882.having said that,i would like to bring your attention that my computer recently upgraded from sp1 to sp3, as well as from internet explorer6 to internet explorer7 and have discovered that my printer is not printing,at all.interestingly,i can print from word pad however i cannot print directly from my mfc-3220c device. therefore i would like obtain further information on how i could configure my account information. yours truly, petrona mckenzie

I would try to update the driver for your printer, if you have not tried this yet. You can get the latest driver from Better yet, this link should take you right to the downloads for your machine:

Also, you should check the basics (all cables securely connected, power is on, paper is loaded, no jams anywhere, clear your printer cache, etc.).

How do I register my warranty of the machine I purchased yesterday?

There is usually a warranty card included among the paperwork you received. If not, you can usually go online to the manufacturer's web site to register your machine. The most important thing is to keep your purchase receipt (stapled inside your owner's manual is a good place). If it is a cash register receipt, make a photocopy of the receipt because sometimes the cash register receipts fade over time.

Considering purchase of a new printer - all-in-one-duplexing wireless B&W & color AND fax. Any info on comparison of brands? Brother?

I have one. It had a low purchase cost as well as replacement cartridge cost. Brother support has been good and the products have worked well for me. I replace them when the drum needs replacement. That is cost effective. Also consider getting a rebuilt one from Staples on line.

You should have received your License Key when you purchased the product. If it is already installed on your machine, you may be able to find the key by running the free Belarc Advisor (from If you registered your product, you should be able to recover your key by visiting the product's support site.

Customer says order placed with PayPal August 17, but we have not received the order.

If you have a customer that says they've made a payment for a product through PayPal and you don't have it on your account there are a number of reasons this can happen.

1) They didn't complete the transaction
2) Your "Pay" button is directed to a different acount (not yours)
3) They manually made a payment to a wrong account

If they've made a payment to your account it will show in the transactions section.

If it doesn't, then contact the customer and have them forward a copy of the receipt to you.

PayPal is very good at keeping records and accounts updated so there should be a paper trail somewhere along the line.

If they have a receipt and it doesn't show your account on it, then advise them to contact the owner of the account and see if they can get a refund from them. Most reputable businesses online will understand a clerical error and issue a refund to the purchaser.

Once that's done they can then make the purchase they originally intended to make.

If they in fact do have your account information on the receipt, forward it to PayPal for them to investigate the reason for the transaction not appearing in your account.

This should get everything straightened out and everyone should be happy in the end.

Had to reinstall Microsoft word 2004 and it will not take the product key #, not valid?

Microsoft Office products can only be activated a limited number of times to keep people from sharing products, the number of activations you have depends on the license you purchased.

If you have used all of your activations then you may be able to speak with an MSOffice representative, explain your situation and they may provide you with a new key with which to use your product.

If you know you haven't used all of your activations yet and the serial still does not work, it would be best to speak with a representative anyway.

I purchased a monitor of Philips 15" CRT in 2006 and now looking for the service (free) but the purchase bill not available.

This situation makes the case for registering the product warranty when purchased. And in the event that you did register the product, either by online registration or by sending in the card, perhaps Phillips can help you if you would contact them. Downside is, if you didn't register the product, the receipt may not matter anyway.
