Question about Heating & Cooling
I just installed a new wick in my Corona DK 23 kerosene heater, and put in new batteries, and now, my switch is upside down. I don't know how this happened. When I tested it repeatedly before I sealed it inside, it was working fine. Now what?? Now I have a full tank of fuel and if I take it apart I will have a mess.
Regardless, it will not start. I thought I could simply get used to using it upside down, but I do not see the wick. I know for certain, the wick is right side up! But something with the switch is upside down.

what make and model is it? They are very simple to change, never heard of 1 "Not" lighting tho, unless you have water in tank and the wick sucked up the water...water don't burn,You can also raise the wick in their now if it has never been raised,as long as it don't have "riviet"looking things attached to sides of wick to fit it wick housing(Sears is good for that)If it a round or square heater it pretty much the same you have to remove the outer shell of heater, its always a good idea to dump out fuel first,at the base of wick their is usually 3 wing nuts or screw that hold wick Assembly in,after removing them you pull housing up to remove ,notice how the old one is on and remove and put new one on,when putting back in make sure wick fans out and goes to bottom tank, put back to gether and your done, most replacement wicks come with directions and height setting for the wick, Its not real hard as long as you pay attention

Check all airvents into conbustion chamber. Make shure they are all clear of blockage. The heater needs air to burn fule properly. Check wick adjustment it may have to much wick.

The replacement wick you purchase will have the instructions on how to install it. Be sure you have your model number with you, when you go to purchase it. Most local independent hardware stores (True Value or Ace) stock the wicks. Where rubber gloves when replacing the wick. Especially if you still have kerosene in the tank.
