Question about Jenn-Air JED8430 Electric Cooktop

1 Answer

Dual Element When I turn the dual element on High, either the large or small element, it does not completely turn red. There is a pie shaped part that remains black. If you think of the element as a clock, the area between 3 and 4 is the part that stays black

Check underneath the element, you may have something preventing the element from gihting up. if you didn't find anything, then it is time to get a new element.

How to replace an element

This could be a couple of issues, but unfortunately if it's your element, you would have to replace the entire element, not just the middle part. What's the rest of your model number? I can find a part number for you. (KECD806R****)

My Jenn AirCooktop Model CVE3401 burner problems

The part you need to replace is the switch. The switch is housed under the top and connects to the dial you are turning.
The switch for the dual burner is 12002125, and 74011242 for the single burner.

The single burner switch runs about $20.00 and the dual runs about $50.00 for the parts

My large dual burner does not heat up completely. Only the center burner works

The only way to find out the problem and repair it is to disassemble it..
Most have to be disassembled from the bottom, with the unit pulled and laying on a blanket to protect the top.)

Could be a bad switch, a bad element, or a wire is burnt off.

Good luck....

Control for dual element has to be wiggled just so -so to shut element off, what do I need to fix it? Heats perfectly, shutting it off is my only problem.

The control you're wiggling (infinite switch)needs replacement. Model# and the position of the dual element (right or left, rear or front) is needed to get the part number.

Frigidaire ES340 Range One element from Dual element doesn't work

The elements DO BURN OUT. Replace it.

Often you can see evidence of a hot spot on the element where the final failure occured, but not always.
