Oasis washer repair

Hi,
Sorry to bother. I saw that you had repair the Oasis washer yourself by replacing the board. I am thinking about doing that too. Is it difficult?

Thanks.

I have the "famous" F1 error with my Oasis HE washer.
I believe the problem is about the computer board under the panel based on the post in other threads.
    http://www.fixya.com/support/t286969-f1_...

Is there any installation instruction I can get for replacing the board?
If it is easy, I will buy the part and replace it myself.

    Thanks for the reply.

How many wires are needed to be removed from the board and later re-attached?

I am having the F1 error code before each wash cycle and rinse cycle.
Thanks. Do you have detail instruction with pictures? Thanks

This was easy to replace, but after only two months I did a small load and when I went to look at it the washer was completely dead.  I fiddled with the wires by unplugging the blue wire that connects the main circuit to the control panel and sometimes it begins to go, but cuts out.  Does anyone have an idea what's going on with it now?

Hi jolin10,
There is three phillip screws left, right and center along the back on the console base. Remove these to make install easier later, I use a step ladder or if you have a nice laundry just pull the machine out and do the work from the back. After removal you will see a gray box. This box has a 1/4 hex screw located front side that holds it down, after removal the box will swing up and towards the front. Before starting unplug the blue harness connecting the console to the box to make work room. Before removing all those wires note the descriptions on the gray box for each one. When removing the clear hose blow into it to ensure all water and junk is out, this is your pressure switch hose, very important unless your machine is in a swimming pool. Ok I would pull the old box loose and slide the old one under it into place and move the wires to the new slots and then secure the box. When finished then plug the power in and do this test. Press spin and count to five and release and count to five, repeat until all lights light and 88 shows in the display. Now it will do a diagnostic.

The board is simple to replace, so you have an F1 error or you getting multiple F51 errors? I would like to offer the best so let me know. I have access to part nums for both issues, Thanks.

What does F1 error code mean on washer

It means you have a control board fault. Call Whirlpool and tell them the fault you are getting and see if it's recalled. There's a good chance. You can install yourself or have and appliance tech do it.

The f1 code pops up

Hello

F1 error with your whirlpool cabrio is a common issue with these types of washers. This error indicates bad control and should be replaced to resolve the error code. However, you can contact Whirlpool as well prior to replacing the control yourself as I have seen whirlpool paying for the parts themselves just because this is known issue for them. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I saw the faq but I didn't see the answer. What does it mean when the Oasis keeps indicating F1 when a wash setting is chosen? If there is a charge to answer this question never mind.

The F1 error code on this washer indicates a Primary Control Board failure.

It is likely that the machine control board will need to be replaced to correct this problem.

The part number for the machine control board is undetermineable because you have not provided me with the exact model # of your washer.

The procedure for replacing the machine control board is provided HERE

NOTE: Be sure to unplug the washer to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.

There is a slight possibility that a problem with the pressure switch hose could be causing this problem.

A pinched or twisted air hose can cause this fault code.

When you open the console, check the air hose connected to the pressure switch on the machine control board.

If it is pinched or crimped, I recommend rerouting the hose to resolve this problem.

This may fix your problem without replacing the control board.

NOTE: You may want to check for this condition before ordering the control board. Most electronic control boards cannot be returned for a refund or credit.

If you find no apparent problems with the air hose on the pressure switch, then replacing the machine control board on this washer should correct your problem. There is a risk involved in replacing this part yourself.

As noted above, you could have a problem with the air pressure hose that is not apparent upon your initial inspection. A service technician would normally need to properly and thoroughly diagnose this problem before replacing the control board.

That would the user interface board (touch panel)behind the dash. Sorry, but not a cheap fix at all. Maybe search Ebay for the part, sometimes you can find it cheaper. Very expensive part and repair. Good Luck to you. Jim
