Question about Jenn-Air Ovens

Jenn Air Oven Repair

I have a Jenn-Air Oven Model W122. Recently the analog timer/clock on the control panel has been making a grinding noise. I have looked on-line for a replacement but all the sourcews I checked indicate that this item has been dicontinued. Can you supply me this part or recommend where I can buy a replacement or get this repaired. It appears all the functions of the oven (broiler/convection/bake) are plugged into the back of this console. It would be a shame to have to replace the whole oven for the sake of a timer/clock. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

F1 error code and constant beeping and oven shuts off.

Hi gwhiz03,

If you are having error code F1 with your Jenn-Air double wall oven this is because you have a defective touch pad or clock (ERC). This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Hope this helps.

Hi jmhostetler9,

This F3 that keeps flashing on your oven is caused by a shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD). To fix this problem check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.You may contact Sears for the replacement part at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central. Jenn-air expressions wall oven clock went dim, now out completely

This may be no help at all but;
Similar ovens have had problems with timer components going bad (overheating) and causing this problem.
First contact Jen- air customer service about a recall or replacement timer board, if that doesn't work remove the timer board and look for a discolored or leaking capacitor, These capacitors are less than a buck as opposed to over a hundred for a replacement board. If you don't want to solder it yourself find your friendly local geek from the radio or electronics club or get a recomendation from the local electronics parts house,

My clock and temperature display is dim

Hi, this will happen over a period of time and its just heat related. the control panel isn't insulated properly and , there has been a larger than normal transfer of heat to the inside of the control panel where the circuits are housed.

If this is a problem, i recommend replacing the control board. it will fix the dim issue.

The problem is very likely a bad capacitor on the clock module. See this link for more info:

More then likely your electronic clock control board is going bad. After turning the power off, you can also try cleaning the connectors on the clock board and make sure the connectors are tight.
