Does THIS help? It looks to be a good walkthrough. The trick is that the "scissor" type bracket for the key must be raised up while you put the key on. Some keys are easily just pressed into position, but it looks like this manual might help.

My IBM thinkpad t43 freezes even before POST and stays that way without continuing boot process. we confirmed the screens are working normal. please help

The RAM module/s may be faulty or just need reseating.
Reseat the RAM module/s and see if the laptop boots normally, if not remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.

Ibm t43 spacebar popped off, how can i fix it ?

if the small components were not broken or lost and the metal spring and key are fine, take it into an IBM/Lenovo Service center and they can fix it or replace the whole keyboard for about $50-100.

Computer Freezes unless pressure applied

With the laptop turned off, take out the hard drive completely from the laptop and then reseat it back into its slot and make sure its nice and snug.

Then go ahead and turn it on and see it will run without freezing on you and having to apply pressure on the keyboard.

If that doesn't work then disconnect the keyboard and see if it will run smoothly without the keyboard. If it does then you might have a stuck key on the keyboard that is making the unit freeze so you might have to replace the keyboard.

You have enabled the number lock feature on the keyboard. Hold the fn key and press the num lk key, the fn & numlk are in blue on most keyboards, this combination enables or disables the numbers lock.

IBM T43 Keyboard

Remove the screws on the bottom of the machine - there are 3 I think one of them is below a removeable panel - the plastic base is marked with a little keyboard symbol by each screw - then pop up the tab with the mouse buttons on by gently pushing a small pin or rod in the hole from the base under this tab where the screw was. Lift keyboard at the front and slide toward you until it is released by the screen - lift the keyboard gently and disconnect the plug from the connecting cable.
