Question about HP PSC 1210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

It started, then stopped!

My 1210psc started printing, like normal, then almost halfway down the page, stopped. There is no power, no lights, nor any error messages. It just stopped as though it wasn't even on.
I have unplugged and replugged it. It's in a power strip, with the rest of my comp. stuff and has been fine until now.
Any ideas?

Seem to be a power problem. Leave your printer unplugged a while. Connect it again and see if the power comes up. Check the power strip outlet, change it for a different one or connect the printer to another outlet on the wall. If still not working your printer needs to be serviced or replaced

I have refilled my color ink. After it prints 20 pages it lights up the "color ink" button meaning it's out of ink and starts printing poorly. I tried refilling twice with new ink - same thing happened.

Try this, it will reset your counter.

Power off printer
Hold down STOP/RESET button then Press and Hold down Power button
Keep Power button down and Release STOP/RESET button
Push STOP/RESET button twice
Wait 20-30 seconds - our LED showed Idle
Push STOP/RESET button four times
Push Power button twice
Power off
Next time the printer is started the waste count will have been reset

Xerox 8500 - overprinting when double-sided

That normally is caused by a dirty maintenance kit. Often times they dry out and do not put enough lubricant on the drum, I would start with a new mainteanace lit., you may also have a bad wiper blade, although thats less likely.

Printer will print first page and then jam

Lean your printer back a bit!
(put a book underneath both of the front corners).
This fixed it for me!

Smudge marks on paper; otherwise normal

fuser is usually replaced as a assembly, it's the hot bit a back.

Can only be two things the drum or the fuser as our headstrong friend has correctly explained.

More than likely it is the drum they last about 4 toners i think.

Learn the art of getting a page to stop halfway threw printing, you want to stop the page after the drum has put a image on the paper but before paper has gone threw the fuser (hotbit).

Once you have mastered the position correctly by stopping the printing by opening the door and removing drum/toner cartridge, to reveal the paper that is printed but can be rubbed off, we will know if marks are coming from the drum (you will see them) or from the fuser, if print is fine
