I am going to assume this is a self install meaning you just got a new tv. If you have an HD receiver connected with red/blue/green wires ensure that you also use a set of red/white from the same TV output on receiver to the same audio input on the TV that you have the other wires ran to as the RED/BLUE/GREEN only carry a video signal. Some poor quality HDMI cables will also require the same red/white wires to gain audio as they do not always function properly. Other than that I can think of no other reason you should not be receiving audio other than internal speaker in tv being turned off. This usually is true when a surround sound is in use but the dish receiver was not integrated into the surround but the TV itself. I hope this is of some assistance to you. Thanks for using Fix Ya and if I can be of anymore assistance please let me know.

How do i get tv to pick up channels?

Hi Meagan, my name is Cheri Torres and I work with DISH Network Internet Response Team. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. Connecting your TV to your DISH Network receiver should be fairly easy, depending on the connections you are using. If you are using an HDMI cable you will need to connect one side of it to your TV and the other end into your DISH receiver, as long as you have an HD receiver. If you do not have an HD receiver you are probably going to want to use composite cables(red, white and yellow). If you are using either of these cables you are going to have to set your TV to an input in order to receive the DISH picture. You can select an input by finding a button on the TV remote or the TV itself that is listed as input, source, AUX, mode or video. You will need to cycle through each one until you find the DISH picture on one of them. Once you have the picture you will need to press SAT on your DISH remote and everything should be working fine from there. I hope this information is useful and if you have further questions feel free to ask!

Our dish network picture looks horrible. everything else looks good. video games ect. is there a trick ?

There are a few things that you could do for this. You could try a different type of cable. Such as, if you are currently using RCA cables, either try another RCA cable in its place, as the cable may be going bad, or try another type of cable, such as coax. You will also want to make sure that you are using the correct input/channel. If you are at TV1, you will want to make sure that the tv is on channel 3 or 4, and sometimes an input, such as video 1 or 2. If you are at TV2, you will want to make sure that the tv is on channel 60 or 73. You will also want to make sure that the other components are powered off while watching the DISH Network.
