Question about Epson Stylus DX6050 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My EpsonDX6050 was working fine until yesterday when the paper stopped feeding correctley. The printer feeds the paper from one side but not the other. Any solutions?
I'm here to FIX your problem. I don't want to be helpful. I want to FIX your problem. If you will work with me, I will work with you until this is FIXED.
The paper not loading from one side is a problem with the pickup and feed roller on one side. This happens when rollers dry out and actually shrink as a result.
To resolve this, all we need to do is 'rehydrate' the rollers. There are solutions you can buy to do this and maybe it will come to that with yours. But, I've used this method below for years of working on Ink Jets since they first came out in 92.
Remove all paper.
Get a clean sponge and dampen it fairly well.
Now, you will want to repeatedly press the Paper Feed button while holding the damp sponge firmly against the pickup and feed rollers you can see while looking down your paper tray of your printer. You should be able to see these rollers quite easily.
The trick is to keep damping the sponge and pressing it against the rollers while pressing Paper Feed a lot of times. How many times? Well, this varies. But you will want to do this at least a dozen times on each side of the pickup rollers to start with.
Once, you are done with this initial attempt, you will want to give the rollers a chance for their surface to dry to the touch. Then, insert a full load of paper and press Paper Feed and see if your printer loads the paper correctly. If it attempts to load and does so better than before but does not quite finish, pull the paper out, its okay to do this, and rehydrate the rollers some more until the paper feed works as expected.
Let me know how this works out for you. I can direct you to a vendor on the internet to buy some roller rejuvenator later if its actually needed. I have found that you can do this trick with the damp sponge on an as needed basis from time to time and achieve the same result.
If, however this does not make any difference in your printers ability to pick up and feed paper then you have a mechanical problem and if under warranty you'll want Epson to fix it. If not under warranty you could have Epson fix it but you'd probably be better off getting a replacement. You will have to decided on that once Epson quotes a price to repair and replace the damaged parts.
Please use the comment text area below to communicate with me and ask any questions to explain something or ask a further question. I will receive an email alert and will get back with you as soon as I am able. This will depend on our time zone differences.
