Question about Panasonic CYVHD9401 9 in. Car Monitor

1 Answer

How do I connect it to my car's speaker system?

I bought a vehicle with the Panasonic DVD player in it, but it didn't have the wireless speakers or remote control, nor did it have the operating instructions. I cannot seem to obtain the Operating Instructions from Panasonic (instead of operating instructions, they provide worthless installation instructions). I can't get the DVD system to work (I believe I probably need to buy a remote control, but without the operations manual which list the replacement parts, I don't know what to buy. I also want to connect it to my car's speakers but am not sure how to do that? Please advise.

If you don't have a remote control for it, that's probably a good part of the problem with the operation of the unit.
Getting the sound to come out over your car stereo speakers depends on the type of audio system you have. If it's a factory system or an aftermarket that does not have an aux. audio input you could get an FM modulator to plug in to the output of the player and broadcast it via FM to your radio. If you have an Aux. input you can get an adapter cable to plug it in with.
As for the operating instructions, sometimes it's helpful to try the manufacturers website from other countries, ie: Canada, Australia etc. panasonic.ca or panasonic.au or panasonic.co.uk
You could also find a local dealer who sells similar products and see if you can either order one or at least get a part number to find one yourself.

Pull up the menu screen and scroll through until you come to FM transmitter. Select FM transmitter and scroll through to select a radio station(88.1, 89.1, etc). Select the station. Now, tune your vehicle stereo to said station. Enjoy.

NO SOUND!!!

On the Back of the DVD Player there are probably two blue wires. One is for the amp turn on and the other is the power antenna wire. Whats happening is when you turn the radio on the blue used for the power antenna is trigger and puts out a 12vlt signal to push the power antenna up.. So when you look at your factor car harness..be sure the wires are correct..on one wire is gonna be for the amp turn on and the power antenna. use the amp turn on the to a different wire that is connected to the factory amp. You can get a diagram from your dealership. With the correct wires in the right positon, you will get sound out of your vehicles speakers.

The thing should have come with a cable that leads to a bunch of RCA cables. Two of those cables are supposed to be connected into your car stereo and then it should work properly.

more than likely the flourscent bulb is bad or the inverter is faulty. These act just like a ballast and bulb in flourscent fixtures. These parts are easily obtained but a headache to change.

Rear speakers dont play with connection box

I believe this is a wiring incompatibility problem. The reason I say this is because when the mp3 player is out the jack which contains switches engages the front L&R and the Rear L&R, when the plug is inserted into the jack the jack switches should remove the audio input to the amplifier and replace it with the audio from the mp3 player. The switches should then send sound to the front L&R and the Rear L&R but the only change should be that the mp3 player is switched in instead of the audio from the raido unit. what is happening is that the jack switches are only switching in the front L&R speakers. This just might be a function of the unit. check the owners manual. here is a site that has the manual: http://www.docs.sony.com/release/XAV7W.PDF
