Question about Projection Televisions
AKAI 27" Wide-Screen LCD TV, Model #LCT2785TA The red stand-by light is on. When turning on the TV using the remote or the TV power button, the red light blinks and there is the normal turning on click sound, but the green light does not come on and the TV doesn't turn on. Any idea what the problem might be?
There are 3 capacitors that become defective very often on this LCDs, causing not to work properly or not at all.
The location of the capacitors is in between HS4 and HS3, their values are 1000uF/16v but you can use 1000uF/25v at 105 degrees Celsius.
If you know how to solder, this might be a DIY always keeping in mind de danger of working with devices that hold an electric charge for days even after being unplug from the AC power.
I repair these power supplies, if you need further information.
