Changing email address will loose only the profile that you created from old email. If your talking about the address book and personal files ( like old emails ). All you have to do is Archive it and open it from the email client (Outlook, Outlook express, Thunderbird, etc.) that you're using from new email address.

Please tell us the email client that you are currently using so that I can tell you where to grab the address book and Personal files from default folder.

I cannot sign into my email acount on Hotmail, I changed my password several times a few weeks aho and now I cannot remember which password I used and I can' t get on no matter what I do.

Good Afternoon, Randtrdh:

When you set up your Hotmail account, you were asked to set an alternate e-mail address just in case this happened. On some scrap of paper you may have the correct information, or you may have sent a friend (or yourself) an e-mail from the new address to announce your move. You can also look in the alternate address, or mail sent on your Outlook or Windows Live Mail (if you set it up) with the account information.

Now you know the hazards of memorizing "stacked" e-mail addresses. But if you used the address even once you can save that account. Otherwise, chase down the post-it or envelope back.

Good Luck!

Tip

How to keep a check on Email Spam?

Step 1: Set up "filters" in your Gmail account to automatically delete junk mail from specific senders. While spammers tend to change their email addresses frequently, you will sometimes get repeated spam messages from the same sender. Go into your "Settings," click "Filters," and set up a filter that automatically deletes all incoming emails from the sender.

Step 2: If you are getting junk mail from the same company, but the return address keeps changing, create a filter to delete the emails by detecting certain words. For example, maybe the company is called Global Moneymaking Enterprises. Create a filter that catches all emails that contain those three words and set it to delete them automatically.

Step 3: Rather than deleting junk emails that make it into your Gmail inbox, select them and click the "Report Spam" button. This will move the message into your spam folder, but it will also give Google information to help it improve its spam filter.

Step 4: Set up a special Gmail address that you use for making purchases, signing up for newsletters, and doing other activities that require you to give out your email address. Sometimes companies will opt you into promotional offers or sell your email address to spammers. Block this mail from coming to your main Gmail account by protecting that address and only giving out your special account address.

Step 5: If you notice a lot of junk emails in your spam folder that contain certain words, set up a filter to screen out emails with those words. Terms such as Viagra are common, but spammers often change them around to defeat spam filters, However, many of these changes are used frequently. For example, many spammers use the same Vi@gara misspelling. When you notice this, block those terms and you won't even get their messages in your Gmail spam folder.

Addresses won't come up after a couple of times-in address book

Assuming it's Outlook...

Tools --> Options --> E-Mail Options --> Advanced E-Mail Options, then check "Suggest Names..." at the bottom, then the usual Applies and OKs. You should be good then.

Easy Solution...

Go To http://www.mozilla.com

Download & Install "Thunderbird". It is an e-mail program.

After It is installed and you have your e-mail setup, run the program.

At the top of Thunderbird you should see a menu. Choose TOOLS then click on MESSAGE FILTERS.

After this point it should be pretty self-explanatory. If not look at the help file....

1ST INEED TO CHANGE MY E MAIL ADDRESS.2I HAVE 3 ACCOUNTS I ONLY WANT 1.3 I NEE A NEW PASS WORD.4MY NEW E MAIL ADDRESS IS thomasw2343@yahoo.com

That's sooooo not a broken PC Desktop issue. Go figure out forwarding or deal with Yahoo when it comes to Yahoo e-mail administration (but it strikes me as a bum deal full of really annoying ads. I'd go with another firm for e-mail I intended to use.)

Stop using all-caps no matter what you're using to write messages. You're not doing enough yourself to make things right.

Can't send e-mails as send button isn't working.

Mail Program? Outlook Express? Mozilla Thunderbird? Operating System? Some more information would be a key to get a proper answer. Just a guess without any other data. Try to see if it is properly configured the required data for mail servers, name, mail address, and so on. Sometimes if something is not well configured, it simply does not let you send any mail. Good luck.

AOL has changed my service to aol free e-mail as I have signed up with embarq for high speed service. I've had AOL for years. After getting thr high speed service, AOL stopped my monthly billing but I was...

They should be in your address book as always. It shouldn't have changed. Try to write an email and see if your address book icon shows up on the right sige of the email. You can also go to the toolbar at the top and under mail it will have address book. If this isn't what you're looking for let me know. I've had AOL since they were a baby. If this solves your problem please rate this as fixed. If not, please don't rate yet. Add a comment explaining your problem a little further and I'll be more than happy to help you out. You reached the right guy for AOL problems. Thanks. Let me know how it goes and if you need more help.
