Re: Can call forward outside system be programmed from...
I do use CFOS, but to get it working, I did have to do some system
programming. You have to turn on the master CFOS enable system
parameter, and you have to assign a button for the station to be a CFOS feature button in the Station programming screen. The outside number to which calls will be forwarded is also assigned on the same screen... I've never found a way to set the number from the station itself.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

Programming the time and date for a Comdial Impact digital phone
system must be done from the attendant's station, usually the phone
located closest to the Comdial controller. Go to this station before
attempting to change the time.
Now the phone system's clock is ready to be reset.
Without picking up the handset, press the "Intercom" button on the phone. Dial * # 0 1. The digital display should read "Set Clock"
Set the year by dialing two digits (00-99)
Set the month by dialing two digits (01-12)
Set the day by dialing two digits (01-31)
Set the hour by dialing two digits (01-23)
Set the minutes by dialing two digits (00-59)
Comdial Impact phone with updated day and time.
Pick up the handset and set it back down to set the programming changes. The new date and time should display immediately on all phones connected to the Comdial system
Sounds like you are trying to change a voice mail recording. Your Comdial phone can be used on several different Comdial phone systems and with several different voice mail systems that all program and set up differently. Do you have any manuals or instructions for your voice mail system? If not, you will need to find out which voice mail you have and try to locate manuals.
To change main greetings, etc.. you would need administrative rights to the voice mail. There will probably be a password, hopefully you know it or it's still at default.
Sounds like your system defaulted. Only a few phones ring at system default and you may not have those ports connected.
First, you need to figure out which Comdial Impact system you have. The phone will work on a few different Comdial systems. Find the main box and get a model number from that.
You'll have to tackle re-programming ringing yourself or pay a local company to do it. If you do it yourself you will need the "programming and installation" manual specific for your system. A "user guide" will be of no use to you. You can search the net for "Comdial Digitech, Impact & Impression Programming & Installation Manual"
Next, I would suggest a UPS backup for your system so this does not happen again. Unless you have a large carded system with dozens of phones, your phones require less power than a typical computer so a UPS made for a computer will be fine. The system will default either when the system memory battery goes too low or I have seen a few cases where power fluctuations will cause it (like when the power goes on-off-on-off rapidly in a storm) either way a UPS system with surge protection will help.
