Receivers complain that the fax is light/unreadable
I receive faxes fine. However, every time I send one, the person calls and says that it cannot be read. I used the fax machine to make a copy and it came out unclear. Is there something that needs to be cleaned or changed?

Re: Receivers complain that the fax is light/unreadable
More than likely (since the problem is with sending and copying only) the mirrors inside the fax machine need cleaning. However, depending on what type of fax machine this is, this could be a pretty involved job. If you are pretty comfortable with taking covers off, you might try it, but if its a pretty expensive fax machine, I would call a professional.
hope this helps!!!

If the person who is sending the fax cant send in color, then you would not be able to receive the fax in color. Just make sure you choice the option to received the fax in color. Ask someone to send you a fax in color and just received in color.
i beleive you can send faxes right but cant receive them..are u using an answering machine..make sure that u set the ring of the fax two tones higher than the answering machine..and also make sure that that the auto answer is also on in your printer..also ensure that your telephone service does not provide voicemail service..otherwise all faxes will go to voice mail..it should have distictive ring pattern..thanks
it seems like there is some dirt or correction fluid on the scanner glass ,flip open the cover where the documents feed in you will see a glass ,clean this glass with a damp soft cloth this should solve the problem

Is this connected to a computer? if so you can run head cleaning utility from the print driver properties. This will pump ink to the head and flush out the clogs. That is the easist way to make sure you don't have a head problem. If it is not connect to the PC then scroll thru the menu to see if there is a maintanence section and look for head cleaning.
In my experience, this type of problem is on the sender's end and not the receivers. We have sent faxes before and while they are sending, the paper on our end misfeeds and the received copy on the other end is stretched and unreadable. One way to determine this is to have a few different people from different locations send you faxes. If all the faxes have this problem, then it is a good bet it is a problem on your end. If not, then it is probably a problem with this particular sender's fax machine. I hope this helps.
