The Karoke is usually se with a reverb that could make it sound that way. Check the vocal settings in the machine for correcting that and time delay setting.
I have the same problem wtih a RSQ500. I removed the cover and unscrew the top of the disk drive to remove the disk that was inside. I going to try to put the cover back and see if it works
The control supposedly controls the mix of the echo... this is a reverb type sound. Please note that room acoustics AND if the mic's "hear" the speaker in this, it may create an echo that is NOT under control of the adjustment. Make sure the mic's cannot "hear" the speaker or a reflection off a wall.
This sounds like a CD read error problem. I would clean the read head (read instructions for this as the head is very fragile).
If there is any chance of warranty being active, exercise it.
ALSO verify the discs are CLEAN with no smudges on the read surface. If you have dirt, clean with windex, rinse, and wipe OUTWARD radially, not in circles.
Remember these disks read from inside out unlike phonograph records.
Yes, problem solved. Both RSQ (maker of Karaoke) and Zoom Karaoke helped solve this issue. RSQ told me CD G's should work, but most do not as it is the way the co. that produces them writes their discs, but could not tell me which ones are the good discs or not and Zoom Karaoke discontinue Neo G's (the other format that scoring is suppose to work on) because they were not selling. If you can find them they have kids songs or foreign language. I bought this from the Guitar Center and 4 times they could not help me. Did they really not know such a simple answer??? They 1st sold me a powered Karaoke for my powered speakers. I found out from an audio specialist that you can not run powered anything to powered speakers. Why did they sell it to me? I took it back and then this problem. I have spent $1000's with them. I wonder?? Anyway, this one goes back and I'm off to find a new one )-:. This is a great site and sometimes I need expert advice. An audio specialist should have been able to help, but there was no mention of Karaoke and I believe you have to be familiar with this product to solve this issue. I will however use this site again. Thankyou! Ernie
