Computer Restarts. Okay, Well I have just bought a PC possible 4 years old. Runs perfectly, and I have heard it has been updated (Don't know what from) to 80gb HD, and 1gb RAM. The computer kept restarting by itself every 15 minutes when I first got it (Yesterday), and today it takes up 2 an hour to restart. It just clicks and the screen goes black and loads up. Please Reply Quick!

Ermm, Is it maybe got to do with the upgrading? Maybe the person who had upgraded it had made a slight error inside my PC...

(Wrong rating) Well, I think I've finally found the problem. It is probably the updated software added.

THANKS ALLOT FOR YOUR COMMENTS! LOVE YOU ALL :P

-- Remove any recently installed maliciously software/add-on or any other application or toolbar. Sometimes there occur software conflicts and the Windows causes computer to randomly restart.
-- Try to cool down your PC as the overheating due to overuse of computer may result in system freezing and sudden restarting.
-- Update your BIOS.
-- Update the drivers
-- Make it sure the error is not caused by the deficient power supply. You may try to change the power supply.
-- Conduct the registry clean up scan for quick fix of the problem.
-- Remove flashy games and/or untrusted antiviruses/antispywares. Conduct the security scan through the most powerful scanners only.

Most probably windows is generating an error and your computer is set to automatically restart when an error occurs. Try disabling automatic restart. right click my computer and select properties. click on the advanced tab and uncheck the automatically restart check box.

The reason why we need to do this is for us to see the actual error so that we will know what to do.

It may have something to do with it but since your computer works for a few minutes to 1 hour it's most likely a software issue.

My dyson Max 08-21663b WHEN FULLY CHARGED I TURN IT ON AND IT RUNS FOR 5 SECONDS AND GOES OFF AND DOES THE SAME THING REPEATELY I BELIEVE ITS MY BATTERY PACK WHICH IS A 6 CELL CAN YOOU ADVISE ME?

Yes the battery pack would be the most likely culprit here. Go on eBay and buy the correct battery cells and build one using the old one as a guide. This method will save you about 50% over trying to buy a make up replacement if available. This is an easy job, just take your time, buy batteries with solder tabs.

Will not start up

hi , Reuben

I would suggest you try safe mode.
Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your computer in a limited state. Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started. The words "Safe Mode" appear in the corners of the display to identify which Windows mode you are using. If an existing problem does not reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers as possible causes.
If you don't know the cause of the problem, you can use the process of elimination to help you find the problem. Try starting all of the programs you commonly use, including the programs in your Startup folder, one by one, to see if a program might be the cause of the problem.
Follow the steps to boot the computer in safe mode with networking:
1. Restart your computer if it is powered on.
2. Tap the F8 key after your computer initially powers on.
3. Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu you can stop tapping.
4. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
5. Select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter.
6. You should see drivers loading, and then please wait.
7. You should then be at the Welcome Screen.
8. Logon to your computer using an account with Administrator privileges.

Are 2002 Aztec computers compatible

I am assuming you are discussing the 2002 Pontiac Aztec, the early crossover with the rather distinctive look. I would assume that since they were made by the same manufacturer and they used the same parts that their computers should be compatible. I can't say so for certain as you haven't provided much information, but, unless one of the Aztec owner swapped out the original computer and replaced it with an updated device, the computers should be compatible.

If you are thinking of trying to swap computer chips, I would advise you to wait and let a professional do it at an independent shop. The reason I suggest this is simple, unless you know how to access the computer chip correctly, you risk accidentally ruining it. If you handle the replacement chip incorrectly it is entirely possible that for a stray static charge to ruin the chip by blowing out a trace. Also, if you damaged the socket from which the original chip was removed then it is possible that you will not be able to reinsert the new device without bending any leads on the bottom. If the leads are damaged, then the new computer won't work.

Even if the new computer chip and the original chip were already installed in installable cases (the way most desktop computer chips are installed), it is possible that when you removed the computer, you might have damaged the receiving socket which means that when you go to insert the new computer carrier it won't work correctly because a few or many of the pins on the bottom of the board won't sit correctly.

How to enable bluetooth

Your computer has to have a bluetooth radio. You can check
Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager
Do you see a Bluetooth Radio listed?

If not, you don't have BlueTooth on your computer so you will have to add a BlueTooth device by plugging one into a USB port.

If you have a BlueTooth radio, go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device and Printers > Add a Bluetooth Device

This option is used to connect a blue tooth device (e.g. bluetooth headphons) to your laptop through your bluetooth radio.

See this Windows web page for more information.
Set up Bluetooth enabled device

I will respond to any additional questions you have.

Burning movies on the computer , playback fine on two computeers , will not play on ONN portable player used DVD-R

Burning dvd\'s is always a crapshoot when you have multiple machines. Computer drives are more tolerant on playback - the problem lies with your other, independent playback units. That is why in your main viewing area it is important that you have a few units so that if disk does not play in one machine, it will play on another. Has to do with the individual differences and calibrations of the machines involved. Store bought dvd\'s have less problems because their laser reflectivity is always higher than disks you burn, and therefore, easier to read properly. Price of the unit has no reflection on ability to properly read the disk. Sometimes and often, a cheaper machine will work better with copies - you never know.

How to install Anti virus on my desktop

Following the steps to install antivirus on you pc.

Compare antivirus software. Look at the features and benefits of each. Read reviews from authoritative editors from magazines such as "PC World," "Smart Computing" and "PC Magazine." Editors who write for these magazines typically test antivirus software as an unbiased outsider and write about both the good and bad sides of antivirus software. For example, the editors at "PC World" recommended Avira AntiVir, Avast Antivirus and Panda Cloud Antivirus in an August 2009 article. Visit the websites of each antivirus program to view screen shots and descriptions of how the program works. Make a final decision about which antivirus program you want to install.

Navigate to the website of the antivirus program you've chosen. Go to the "Downloads" section of the site if you're obtaining a free antivirus software. Click on the "Purchase" section or "Buy" button if you have chosen licensed software; pay for and complete the transaction. Click the "Download" button or link for the antivirus program. Save the file to your computer desktop or to a computer directory or folder which you can easily remember.

Find the antivirus program file you downloaded on your computer. Double-click the ".exe" file (which is an executable file that will install the antivirus program). Once you double-click the ".exe" file, the installation process will automatically begin. Click "Continue" or "Next" on each screen to complete the installation process. Enter your name and contact details if registration is required. Follow any other on-screen prompts to complete the antivirus program installation. Restart your computer if necessary.

Freezes on the warm boot screen MC9000

This can be for a number of reasons.

First thing would be to try and cold boot the device:-

Remove battery half way, hold power button and trigger, push battery in fully until click and then release power and trigger

If that fails next thing would be to try and re-flash the operating system. This is done by using an SD card and loading the latest operating files onto it. The SD card slot is located under the keypad. A cross head screwdriver is required to remove the keypad. Search on symbol software download site for the latest. The download also has a readme with detailed instructions. Once the files are on perform a cold boot.

Remove battery half way, hold power button and trigger, push battery in fully until click and then release power and trigger. Drop the terminal in a cradle so that it runs on external power.

Hope this helps.
