Question about Audio & Video Receivers

1 Answer

Primare A30.2 power amp has suddenly stopped working. Was playing OK, then after about half hour of non use (still powered up) it clicked and the green light went off. Both fuses (mains plug and in the unit) are fine, I've left it to cool down, tried the power switch several times with the "remote link" switch in both positions. NOthing I do will make it switch on again.

Check for the fuses inside the machine, replace only with same ratings! Make sure there's no shortcircuit at the speaker output terminals. Have it checked out by your local dealer if you are in doubt.

Vw rcd 500 power is showing

if im not mistaken they run off the cars on board computer to display (CLOCK & TEMP) on the center console?
so if im right, have you check the fuse in the fuse box down beside your feet under the steering column. trust me don't check the radio fuse.....check them ALL! as it runs off the interior light fuse as well. start with the 20A ones.
if im wrong, then you've popped the fuse on the back or inside the head unit...

Receiver will not turn on and is making a clicking sound TX-NR 609

This is the same problem i've had with my POS nr609. I will never buy Onkyo again.. Everyone warned me about the poor quality.. This thing worked for a year and a half, blew the amp., replaced and now another year and a half, f'd again. Save your time, buy a Denon or a Harmon Kardon. Better quality, same features.. Why does my receiver start stop producing audio output half an hour after turning it on?

Most likely is an intermittent solder connection opening up as set warms up.

No sound from my ja 687 amp lights show receiver is working

Need to check on the power supply to the output drivers, if there is no response on the speakers it is possible that the output replay is under protection. You need to remove power plug and leave aside for an hour before the amplifier is plugged back. If all functions show on display but there is no sound check the PREAMP output- audio out. If there is audio then the fault is with a non switching of the power amp or a power amp protection. Since these are mounted boards with little access to testing you need to be skilled to go further to probe and proceed. Also Denon might refuse to service if the amp is tampered which also can be expensive.

AVR 1803

There is a thermal non resetable fuse built into transformers primary. There are two leads from a connector that go to Primary of transformer they may be yellow and white leads. If there is no continuity between these two wires Transformer is defective. With Power unplugged pull connector and measure with ohmmeter. Fuse is buried pretty deep inside transformer and some technicians can get it out and replace it but it is not easy.

Not powering on

1. The power cord is not completely insered. 2. the impedance selector switch on the rear panel is not fully set to the upper or lower end - (set it when the unit is in the standby mode) other then that, you will have to call for a service.
