Question about Leaf Blowers

1 Answer

Ryobi electric blower vac not accepting electrical power, used once only.

I purchased a Ryobi blower vac online on 2/4/08. Used it once then stored it in its box in my spare room ready for the autumn.
Took it out to garden to use today, plugged it in and 'nothing'. No power on light or anything.

Iv'e checked there is nothing wrong with my wall socket and I've replaced the fuse in the plug.

I've checked the bag is correctly attatched and the nozzle too as the manual says without these correctly attatched it won't work, in fact I have even removed them both and re-attatched them to be sure that is not the problem.

I cant think of anything else that might prevent it from accepting power and as the company from which it was purchased is no longer showing on web I cant ask for their help, but the guarentee says I can take it with purchase receipt to any Ryobi service centre. Problem is I dont drive and there does not appear to even be even a stockist local so I would need to post it too somewhere prepared to fix it under its guarentee. ANY SUGGESTIONS.

I had the same problem. I have got mine from Home Depot last year, got it out this year and it did not work. I sent it to a repair man Ryobi suggested for a couple weeks now. They said they could not fix it and it seemed they're stalling the time. BAD PRODUCT.

This is a poor product even though it is recommended by WHICH. I used mine on three occasions.I had the following problems:
-The blow **** lever mechanism kept jamming.
    - When sucking leaves the shaft often blocked
-It could not pick up and deal with small acorns
-The collecting bag sprayed fine dirt on user’s clothing.
-The motor kept cutting out until it failed completely
I invoked the Sales of Goods Act 1979 and returned it

I have had exact same problem as above, went to use brand new product this weekend and nothing, zip, zilch. Will be contacting Ryobi today to see what they will do.

MY RYOBI GAS BLOWER AND VAC IS HARD TO START. IT IS NEVER BEEN USED SINCE I PURCHASED IT FROM HOME DEPOT. I HAVE ONLY BEEN ABLE TO GET IT STARTED TWICE AS A TEST START BEFORE USING IT. WHATS THE PRO

Without seeing in my shop it will hard to tell exactly what is going on. I have ran into a couple starting problems with Ryobi blowers. They carburetor were either being over choked or not enough choke. Both were Ruixing carburetors. Something you can try to find out if it is the carburetor into add a little fuel mix directly into cylinder through the spark plug hole.

Depending on how long you have had it, it may still be covered by the warranty and I would check into that if I was you.

Wish to purchase sparkplug rdj7y for ryobi blower vac where do i purchse from which australian store please female buyer help!

In the US hardware stores (DIY stores) or stores that sell car parts. Bring the old one in so that you can match the numbers. Also you will need to set the gap. that is the space that the spark goes across. It should have that number in the manual. I can tell you because we use thousandths of an inch. in the US.
