Hi,

It could be a BIOS setting causing this particular problem. You can reset your BIOS to default settings by:

  1. Open the PC case and look at the mother board.
  2. Look for the jumper setting which will be similar to the one in the diagram below and usually situated close to the CMOS battery.

no signal message - 1_7_2012_1_12_42_pm.jpg
3. Turn off the PC and move the jumper over to the open pin and the center pin for 5 seconds then move it back to its original position.

This will reset *********** board to its default values and will more than likely cure the problem you describe.
Note that you may have to reset the time and date in your BIOS setup once this procedure has been carried out.

Let me know if you have any further queries or problems regarding this matter.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

Emachine destop not recognising acer lcd monitor

It sounds more like the computer isn't starting up. The "no signal" message is coming from the monitor itself to tell you it's on but there's nothing coming in to display. Normally no special drivers are required for the monitor, and you'd see at least the computer maker's splash screen and BIOS messages if the computer was starting up properly.

You'll need to determine what is keeping the computer from starting up. Make sure it's getting AC power and that the power light comes on when you press the front panel power button. You may need a power supply. If the computer comes on but doesn't boot you may have memory problems or trouble with the motherboard. But your monitor is working properly.
